All 3 have a great first 5 tracks, but which do you think opens the best? DOYS - Bag it Up, The Turning, Waiting for the Rapture, The Shock of the Lightning, I'm Outta Time. NGHFB - EOTR, Dream On, If I Had a Gun, TDOYAM, (IWLIADIM) Record Machine. Chasing Yesterday - Riverman, ITHOTM, TGWTXE, Lock All the Doors, The Dying of the Light.

Very hard to decide. DOYS comes out swinging, fighting to gain back the territory Oasis had lost over the previous couple of years in the rock n roll genre. So tough to vote against that run of tunes.

On the other hand, DOYS has that special ingredient in a parka, shaking a tambourine.

Noel's songwriting was on fire. Take it away Noel!!!! Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda............ Now I think of it, Noel likes to out good songs in the first half - all these are from the first 5 tracks of their respective records:
Rock n' Roll Star Shakermaker Live Forever Wonderwall Don't Look Back in Anger D'You Know What I Mean? My Big Mouth Stand by Me I Hope, I Think, I Know Go Let it Out Who Feels Love? The Hindu Times SCYHO Songbird Lyla TIOBI The Shock of the Lightning I'm Outta Time EOTR If I Had a Gun The Death of You and Me Riverman ITHOTM The Dying of the Light Lock All the Doors

I expect Chasing Yesterday to be much stronger.
Not a fan of Dig Out Your Soul, even those first tracks don't rate in my favourite Oasis songs post 1997.

No love for HFB? That's an amazing five Song run. DOYS is also pretty spectacular. Shame about the rest of the album

Dig Out Your Soul. An amazing run of songs, of which I love all five. That album made a promise that it couldn't deliver with a mediocre second half.

Dig Out Your Soul.
Shame about a few songs on the second half, but nevertheless one of my favourite runs of songs.

Compared to the rest of DOYS, those are definitely the strongest tracks but they're still pretty mediocre for me. Chasing Yesterday gets my vote.

Dig Out Your Soul
IMHO, I'd argue it's the second best opening five track run of any Oasis album (2nd to MG) for how smooth the transitions are from song-to-song, and how it's built off of one indirect concept.

Without a doubt DOYS.
I dont even really like any of the first 5 on HFB apart from The Death Of You And Me, and Chasing Yeaterday is let down by The Girl With X-Ray Eyes and Lock All The Doors, imo, which are pure filler to my ears.
