This is very reminiscent of Pulp. Yeah, I was desperately trying to remember a Blur sing from before 1997 that resembled it, but Pulp's not far off I guess.

I figured out most of the chords for this lovely tune if anyone doesn't feel like waiting for georgiarose16 to put up a cover. Intro- Basically the first half of The Masterplan intro + Cmaj, Emaj, Emaj7 Verse- Amin, Emaj, BbMaj, Amin, G#maj, Gmin, Fmaj Chorus- Emaj, Amin, Gmaj, Fmaj, Cmaj, Emaj He hasn't done Do The Damage or Mighty I. I'm wondering if he dislikes the songs?

It's quirky, but it's cool. I love that line with about seeing through his disguise. Chorus could be a little stronger though.

"As she swallows space and time"
I'm sure that's a euphemism.

"As she swallows space and time" I'm sure that's a euphemism. Yeah but that other thing sounds so blunt and rude in a song

Add Staring At the Sun by U2 to this recipe. And a jar of Cheez Wiz. And more genius. Add Vieni da Me by italian band Le Vibrazioni. Noel took a little bit of TDOYAM from italian songwriter Pino Daniele as well

"As she swallows space and time" I'm sure that's a euphemism. Noel really strains on this part. He could have done better, I mean, he managed to hit EOTR notes. Not that this pertains to your joke, just relevant to the portion of lyrics.

The song isnt too much Pulp to me, being a massive Pulp fan i dont hear it, more Suede tbh. Most interesting song on the record... and oh, another track 3 on a Noely record (which is the most important song on a record for him)

It's Blur doing David Bowie. I don't think Damon could have written a more Blur-esque solo, if he tried.

Such a tune this one, this kinda song was sorely needed for DOYS.
Fucking epic.

Favourite song off the album. Anyone might try a give a shot to the lyrics?? These is what I have: I tried to hang on to myself I don’t believe in no one else And I’m shaking like a leave As I fall into the street But the girl with x-ray eyes, She’s gonna see through my disguise Going nowhere down a hill It’s hard to swallow life with you And it’s twisted on your tongue By the sea if I’m standing still There was no one to be seen No one left to hear my scream So she took me by the hand We followed clues left in the sand As she swallowed space and time We gathered pork and swine ( ) She shot me to the sun Like a bullet from a gun And when the day was done In the morning she was gone Turn the page and let it go Like your mother told you so Life it stretches out for miles The truth is on your steady arms But the girl with x-ray eyes, She’s gonna see through your disguise So she took me by the hand We followed clues left in the sand And she swallowed space and time We gathered pork and swine ( ) She shot me to the sun Like a bullet from a gun And when the day was done In the morning she was gone -- I have serious doubts about the "pork and swin" line, though haha.

Didn't like this track, I find the melody awful, revolves around itself. This song lacks space, air... I'll skip it forever.

Sounds like it would fit on Kasabian's Velociraptor's album. Think Le Fee Verte.

My 2nd favorite behind Lock all the Doors. I don't see how people hate this but like The Right Stuff. TRS is so boring, it's my least played track along with WTSRTS which is just the verses to Salvation by the Cranberries. I love the chords and melody on TGWTXRE.

No thread for this song?? It's awesome! Starts with the Masterplan then solo from Hotel California, what more could you want? Thoughts?

I'm amazed how this song is getting better and better after listen. I genuinely believe it's one of the best songs Noel ever wrote. This song is very underrated here. I guess time will tell.
