I guess we'll never know the truth, but if Noel simply recycled the AA sessions, that's a bad move In one of the recent foreign language interviews Noel said he'd used music recorded in those sessions. The mags out today - anyone been able to pick it up yet? Surprised the NME website hasn't published any teaser quote articles yet... |

28.11.2011, Noel's interview at Radio Deejay in Italy. He wasn't on air and he said: "My album with the AA is fuckin' brilliant"
Probably he thought that the album wasn't good enough and these guys wanted the credits, not only for the producing side of the record. At the and of the day the name on the cover is "Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds" not "AA, nobody gives a shit about us"
Gaz Cobain should know that he's no one and Noel is the biggest songwriter of the last 20 years. If he says something that Noel doesn't like he'll take him in front of a judge.

Nothing at all in it.
Not trying to crawl up Noel's backside here and I think he's acted like a total dick but I don't believe their claim that they didn't know of the other album. They say that Noel left them in complete control and often want at the sessions. Seems unlikely that he'd leave his planned first solo album entirely in their hands.

Not a lot of information, I wonder if the NME cut all the controversial stuff or if Gaz was genuinely nice towards Noel. Though it kind of confirms what we've said here many times: Noel didn't have a lot of input on the AA sessions and probably wasn't completely satisfied with the final product since it reflected a foreign vision of his music. The AA think it's great, Noel doesn't and there's the conflict. We'll have to wait to get our hands on Chasing Yesterday and look at the credits, but I think it's fair enough if he's used material or ideas from the sessions and credited AA as producers. On the other hand, I understand Gaz's disappointment in being let down after putting such an effort on the album. At the end of the day, it's Noel's right to cancel something he wouldn't be proud to release and we'll all just have to move on. Hopefully the most experimental touches in the new album will be well received and we might look forward to more artistic risks from Noel. |

Nothing earth shattering in that Gaz interview but it was nice to finally officially hear something from him. He's disappointed. I get that. I am too. Eventually we will hear more of these sessions...............eventually.

In relative terms, the Amorphous Androgynous songs aren't even that long. There are a few bands out there that do 20 minute songs as standard, 5 minute ones effectively as short interludes and 40 minute/hour long songs as the main centre of the album |

I've heard songs that are 70 minutes long that are less boring than the last 4 or so minutes of It's Getting Better(Man)... |

Do you know what the agreement was from the beginning? Weren't AA payed for their studio-time? Maybe they had a contract saying that Noel could use all creative input as he wished? There are too many details we don't know about to start picking sides. |

Noel has a long history of "stealing" (even though i disagree with most of them), he'd better not add this. He's always wanted co-producing credits on his songs, and that's fine, but he should give the credit when due. I dont like those guys or their music, but if one of their note in on the record, they have to be credited. seems like they will. So good. that's all i'm saying. |

This is all getting weird. If the AA could just for once, in simple words, describe in a chronologic way how the recording process went along and why exactly they think it would have been groundbreaking. I'm really interested in how the songs developed, sounded and were arranged. How should we as fans comprehend their position and why Noel abandoned it, if we have no idea what the album was like. They should just leak it. There, I said it. Hope we get to see the video they've recorded of the interview.
