I'm quite upset that Noel ditched the bass riff in the Lock All The Doors chorus Hopefully my mate Russel has the balls to bring it back on the live version.

Eh. ITHOTM is more of the same in comparison to the material from the first record. It almost feels forced in context with this album. I also think you're looking at this from the perspective of the 90s. In the 90s it was important to play it safe with a lead single because the charts mattered so much more. They don't matter as much today because sales are down by a huge amount across the board. There was only ONE platinum record all of last year, Taylor Swift. I'm not even kidding. Even platinum records are dead. IMO this record provided Noel an opportunity to reintroduce himself with something a bit more adult and forward thinking. Can you imagine if he led with The Right Stuff? It would blow people's minds to hear that right off the bat. I would not be surprised at all to hear that ITHOTM was one of the last songs recorded for this record. DGMW, I don't hate it, but in terms of album cohesion its the square peg in the round hole for me. I agree, very much agree. Everytime i hit ITHOTM i say to my self this song does not sound like it belongs here. I dont know why but it is just the odd song on the album. Which is pretty funny because its the most typical. I think that's largely due to the fact that it's been out longer than any other song off the album. Of course it's gonna wear thin and seem underwhelming compared to other songs at first because you know it from front to back.

It's the most contrived and forced song on the album. With what you're saying, I can compare it to something like AKA What A Life. I still love the track since the moment I first heard it and it hasn't gotten old years on and hundreds of plays since. I was nervous for the record when I first heard ITHOTM b/c I felt there was no growth from the work on the first album and it (again) comes across forced. Oh, here's a track with a grating nanana hook. That said, I do like the "Naked" version that a fan made of ITHOTM. Ballad of Mighty I was a stronger song though so it reignited my excitement immediately.

Its just a poor forced Noel song. Totally out of place.

Just given it a listen, still half a sleep. Not blown away on first play through, there's atleast a couple that just didn't do anything for me at all. Will give it another listen when I'm a little more awake.

this album is a puzzle that fits perfectly into place. I cant get over "the song remains the same". NOEL GALLAGHER is not human.

This ultimately boils down to personal preference because I for one think Ballad of the Mighty I is kinda boring. I respect its place on the album more so than ITHOTM, but I don't enjoy BOTMI as much as a stand alone track. Same goes for WAL, quite frankly, it's my least favorite track off his first album. It's crazy how musical tastes can be so alike but yet so different lol.

Noel does not have to worry about losing $ over leaking! I'm buying an album for my self and about 10 others to hand out to people.
Come to think of it, this will be the first disc i have purchased since Noels last album.
Either way take my $ well deserved Noel

Anyone else think Noels vocals are annoyingly low in the mix? Or maybe he's just pleasuring my pain
