Only gotten to X-Ray Eyes, but this sounds so fucking different than a Noel album. I can't tell if that's good or bad, but it's refreshing. Riverman is a bit of a letdown.

The Girl with the Xray Eye just started.
I definitely expected Space Oddity to kick in a couple times. LOL

Is this album too much for mainstream people to embrace? Just food for thoughts It's not THAT out there. Still easy enough on the ear. I'm only on my second listen-through though. I know its not that kind of out there but the people who heard his first solo album are going to be like suprised and some people just want more of the same. I dont think he will sell the same as the last one. But I would him to.

love ya noel gallagher. i have illegally downloaded the album but i do plan on playing an arm and a leg for the deluxe version, the vinyl, the tickets to your gigs. you got my money.
the mexican is beady eyes wind up dream if they actually had hooks and decent production and a decent singer. i did imagine liam singing a few of these tunes. it is a great album but i will never deny that i miss that magic of oasis... liams (sometimes) brilliant voice singing noels brilliant songs.
anyway thank you noel gallagher for your amazing music that continues (and will continue) to bring color to my life.

Is this album too much for mainstream people to embrace? Just food for thoughts Its not even worth thinking about. It could bring some "back", but making any noise in the top 40 or anything like that? Who cares? Let those motherfuckers have their Beyonce and Drake.

Is this album too much for mainstream people to embrace? Just food for thoughts ITHOTM and YKWCGB have more modern radio appeal than anything from the first album IMO. Though maybe this album will be too much for some aging britpop fans

I'm fine with ITHOFM being the lead single, but I'm positive You Know We Can't Go Back would've been just as good while not breaking too many boundaries. Nah. I can't find any justification with Nananananana as lead. In comparison to the majority of the rest of the album I'm just not feeling it in context with the rest of it. I've always thought of a lead single to be a safe bet. It doesn't do anything completely out of the ordinary for that particular artist. I don't know, but I agree that after listening to the album, something like We Can't Go Back, even Lock All the Doors would've been a better choice. I like ITHOTM because it's harmless, but I would've totally replaced it with Do the Damage. ITHOTM would've been a great b-side for sure.

Halfway through the album so far and it's great. I'd say Riverman is the highlight.

You Know We Can't Go Back reminds me of Weezer now... ffs Noel. Also, for some reason, I get emotional while listening to it. It's so heartfelt but relentless... just tear out my soul why don't ya!?

Wow I'am on my 7th listen love it!!!!! I don't know what else to say. Was not expecting such a intricate album. There is so much that went into this. Noel should have produced every album. I'am amazed. I wonder how he is gonna pull it off live with all the extra instruments used on the album.

ITHOTM is more of the same in comparison to the material from the first record. It almost feels forced in context with this album. I also think you're looking at this from the perspective of the 90s. In the 90s it was important to play it safe with a lead single because the charts mattered so much more. They don't matter as much today because sales are down by a huge amount across the board. There was only ONE platinum record all of last year, Taylor Swift. I'm not even kidding. Even platinum records are dead. IMO this record provided Noel an opportunity to reintroduce himself with something a bit more adult and forward thinking. Can you imagine if he led with The Right Stuff? It would blow people's minds to hear that right off the bat. I would not be surprised at all to hear that ITHOTM was one of the last songs recorded for this record. DGMW, I don't hate it, but in terms of album cohesion its the square peg in the round hole for me.

Everytime i hit ITHOTM i say to my self this song does not sound like it belongs here. I dont know why but it is just the odd song on the album. Which is pretty funny because its the most typical.

Eh, just about done with the album, and kind of underwhelming. It'll probably grow on me, but the best albums grab you from the first listen.

I've always thought that Don't Believe the Truth was the easiest Noel associated album to listen to from beginning to end, but now I think Chasing Yesterday has that label now. Noel's last album is extremely solid, and I still enjoy it from time to time, but with the majority of the songs being heard and known of for years really took that element of surprise away.
