Never actually stopped to think about it, but I believe it would be a much stronger choice for first single compared to ITHOTM... and I really like ITHOTM. I guess Noel shelved it cos' that version is practically finished, I mean, it would most probably sound the same as the "demo" and I guess fan would be kinda disappointed that the first taste of the new album wasen't any kind or surprise...
But overall I'm really sorry that tune didn't get in DOYS... It could me mega with Liam vocals and I agree that would fill for a lot of weaker tunes in that album... I mean, I'm not a fan o Record Machine as well but I'll have a million times over the likes of NOR, SO, GOYHHL, AGN...

I think I've listened to 'Come On Outside' twice. For all the hype it ended up being bang average for me. So.... Is 'bang average' a good thing or a bad thing...? Considering your love for Beady Eye.....

Come On Outside is nice but somewhat generic to me, in the sense that its a standard Noel 10-mins-to-write song. Not bad but not terribly impressive given other contributions. Just Let It Come Down Over me is the one I really like. I think it would make a great opener for a small 3-piece gig like the STC/LDSMD mini-tour. I would have agreed with you mk two years ago, but that outro lingers long in my head well after listening to it.

Noel speak highly of songs these days that aren't up to his previous work. I mean i like Come On Outside, but i was kinda like "yeah, well, it's ok" when i first heard it.
He should just stop hyping his songs, we'd be less disappointed. His last truly great tune, Death Of You and Me, wasn't hyped at all, for instance.

I really dig it. It's got all the right ingredients to be great, but it ultimately goes nowhere. Just builds and builds.. I would love to hear it live, but if I could pick, I would go with Freaky Teeth every time.
