Unless the 2nd album is fucking unreal or has hit singles, it's unreasonable to expect the same buzz as a big solo debut...
.....
We on Live4ever might appreciate it, but what if the UK and the world do not?
.....
So what happens if he can't get the album to number one, can't sell out his concerts, can't headline glastonbury?
.....
Will he remain content? Take a break? Make a 3rd Album? Team up with other artists? Would he reform Oasis? (I doubt it)
.....
Would love to hear your thoughts

Noel will keep doing what he's doing and make music. He's a musician so that'll never stop. Either under the High Flying Birds banner, or Oasis, he won't stop. And he's rich enough that he can afford to even if his album ends up being shit. And by the difficulty it was to get tickets this morning, I'm sure his tour will be a success.

It will go number 1 in UK - 100% sure. Or else it's his first studio album not to do. Can't see him enter on any other place.
The tour is pretty much sold out in UK, Europe and Japan.
If CY becomes a dissapointment and doesn't sell well, I hope Noel will do an acoustic album just under the name "Noel Gallagher".
I don't know how he will handle a failure though. Needs to go on TV shows now and play live. Show "Hi! I'm The Chief and I'm fucking back."
I'm a bit worried with what we have got so far. Neither of the two song are close to TDOYAM, EOTR or IIHAG (three classics).
And for those of you saying NG don't mind the charts - not true. It's extremely important for him to no 1 with EVERY studio album he's ever written. I think that's a Big reason why the AA Album were scrapped.

The record and tour will be a success and Noel will make a ton of money. Just like he ALWAYS does.

He said it himself: Oasis will reform

He's said a few time that if an album doesn't do well that he doesn't stress. It's not the end of the world. He'd just make another one and hope that one did better
I doubt that the album would tank enough that he would change his current career patb

He will say "Oh well". And go back to enjoying his million pounds having lifestyle with his wife and children and eventually do something again musically with a renewed focus to better the prior disappointment.
WTF else would he do?

He's not going to reform Oasis, that's for sure. If this album fails (and I highly doubt it - us fans will buy it anyway and his new style could resonate with a bigger fanbase as well) he'll just go back to his more classic songwriting for the next one, return to his old Oasis-like sound.

"What Would Noel Do If Chasing Yesterday Was Disappointing?"
He would release a "safe bet" third album in 2016/ early 2017

"What Would Noel Do If Chasing Yesterday Was Disappointing?" He would release a "safe bet" third album in 2016/ early 2017 Noel is a lazy man, I can't see him following up a 2015 album with a 2016/17 release. That's even assuming Chasing Yesterday is "disappointing". His first album wasn't disappointing, and it took him till 2015 to follow up from 2011. He's not quick by any means.

I could easily see him blaming "going too fast to the studio" after the debut album a la Be Here Now. He would probably take a larger brake this time and return to a sound closer to Oasis (since this album seems to be a bit more farfetched)...
Nothing too extreme because I don't believe his album sales would translate in a weak tour. SOTSOG and HC weren't nearly as well in sales as the previous albums, but the tours were mega with sold out parks and stadiums. If the cd ended being weak, he could easily perform more Oasis tunes and still fill arenas imo.

He has so much material and so many fans that he can tour the whole world for a year no matter how well the album sells. Which also means that he'll be resting afterwards, and that I wouldn't expect the follow-up album before 2018, even if CY sucks or sells really well.
