Impossible to judge from such a short clip, but it has a confident sound. Noel knows what he's doing, chill out.

I really think the bass takes away from the vocal...
God bless.

In case any musicians are interested for when the track comes out... I played along to the video, I have it down as capo on 4th fret, Em then C/G (332010). I know it isn't worth much right now, but I can see this being a track where the verse is mainly those two chords repeating, before going to a different chorus. So it's a start

That question was aimed more at matt and you're misreading it I think. Matt says Noels "love of some disco/house influence" is well known. I'm saying his love of *house* is well known, but not disco. They are different genres. I've only heard him mention disco in interviews since the AA album, that is in the last couple of years. If either of you have an old interview where he mentions disco I'm happy to be corrected... Sorry for the confusion, disco is a bit of a generic and ambiguous term I use - one which covers acid house, dance, electronica etc. I don't mean it in the strict sense of Bee Gees' Saturday Night Fever, more of an umbrella term.... just kind of what music would be played in the clubs back in the late 80s/90s. Anyway, easy to see the tune as disco perhaps. Acid house + Noel's pop sensibilities = disco? It's interesting Noel has only used the word "disco" when describing songs since the AA album. Interested to see the production credits for Mighty I to see if this is the tune Gaz was complaining he only go a co-producer credit for.

If this really is one of the AA songs, then it should be getting a bit more interesting further in the song.
Btw, showed the clip to someone and she immediately said "This is stolen. Sounds exactly like this old song". But she couldn't recall what song by who

If this really is one of the AA songs, then it should be getting a bit more interesting further in the song. Not necessarily. (Listen to what they did with If I Had A Gun.) We have zero info on what AA did to these tracks during those sessions. That would be like saying Death In Vegas were a big part of Don't Believe The Truth.

I do like the lyrics.. He knows how to hook you with the first few lines. 'Followed you down to the end of the world, to wait outside your window'. Aah. Cannot wait. Can.not.wait.
Edit: He rocks those red trousers.

It's a random Kasabian song plus the Hollies. It's good, to be fair.

Sounds good I think, but more in a "Alone on a rope good" than "Live forever good" way. And not in a "big single good" way either. Let´s wait for the full number tho

Ok, I gave up and I've just listened to it I don't really get how it is possible to express a rational opinion after hearing only twenty seconds of the intro from a 5 minutes track. I can't. All I can say is that I like what I hear, it's got a great sound and a nice mood. I hope it'll explode and become massive in the chorus. Great first lines too, typical Noel: " Followed you down to the end of the world / to wait outside your window".
