I still think U2 announcing a MASSIVE tour before Bono has fully recovered from his EXTREMELY damaging injures is a potentially huge DISASTER. Did this band learn nothing from the Pop Mart fiasco? And that was just an album being rushed. Now we are talking about a 50 year olds banged up body and huge touring commitments in 2015. I mean Bono really puts on a performance at these 3 hour live shows. That's gotta take great stamina and strength to do every night. It's sad Bono's accident threw U2's plans into chaos but health first. This was always going to be a long, painful recovery. It sounds worse than Dylan's motorcycle accident of 1966.

Doesn't Edge write the music and Bono writes the lyrics?
And during a live show it seems like I've only seen Bono playing guitar for like one or two songs, and he only plays about two chords...
Don't really see a real problem if all that's the case.
God bless.

That's gotta be exhausting. Plus these bike injuries sound gruesome.

Bono literally was a lunatic back in the day - he would often clamber scaffolding and balconies in a concert venue and jump from the top for the fans to catch him.
Hasn't done that in a long time as their shows became more choreograhped, and that bike injury sounds painful will surely give him a few tweaks here and there. Apparently his humerus was sticking through his leather jacket. Ouch!

The bike wreck didn't damage his pipes.
So he can't prance around on stage and pull 40 and 50 year old women on stage, no big deal - no one wants to see that, anyway.
And who in the hell wrecks a bike on a bike path? I guess I did once but that was while blacked out drunk - I still have visble scars from that one.
God bless.

I've seen U2 on several recent tours (PopMart, Elevation, Atomic Bomb, No Line) and believe me, Bono is still extremely active on stage. Runs around a lot. Dances. Plays guitar. He's sweating bullets by the end. These concerns are like theatrical events. They just don't plays guitar, drums and bass. Tons of shit going on. Plus the tickets cost an arm and a leg. It's a show. I'm just surprised they didn't wait until he was healed to know 100% where they stand. It's a huuuuuge tour already.

U2 are one of the few bands that I like where I think the vocal truly transcends the music. I personally listen to songs focused on the music, but with bands like U2 and David Bowie, the vocal is the perfect instrument. God bless.
