I know it's the simplest song ever with the most basic melodies but when I saw that I really honestly thought a band that was like Oasis would be born that would deviate from the original Oasis blueprint. Even seeing Gem give his all on the solos in that video shows you that perhaps I wasn't the only one to believe it.
Bring the Light is a very average song but it really had this amazing energy about it that Oasis hadn't had since 94/95. Noel's songs are undoubtedly superior but I really thought Beady Eye could've been this cool band that really hit some funky notes and delivered some original material whilst simultaneously having one of the greatest rock'n roll voices singing over the top of it and delivering the songs with attitude at live gigs.
Shame it wasn't meant to be. Noel said Liam should do a solo album, I don't know about that. Although, I'd of said that about Ian Brown in 1994 and he really has turned out some fantastic material. If Liam can improve his lyrics somewhat then he maybe really could go on to be an amazing artist on his own.

I'll be honest. I had to laugh when I heard Bring The Light for the very first time. To me it was a bad joke. I didn't expect Liam, Gem, Andy and Chris would come back to the front with the song like this, BUT I enjoyed this song when I heard it live.
It's not the hope we "had", but there's still hope for always. Gem Archer and Andy Bell are bothe very talented musicians, so I'm sure they'll be back (Andy with Ride reunion already).
Everything needs time, so does Liam.

If Liam can improve his lyrics somewhat then he maybe really could go on to be an amazing artist on his own. I had such high expectations when Beady Eye were going to release their first single. It was rumoured to be an album full of good rock music mixed with psychadelic pop. Q magazine also had a really postive review, giving it 4/5 from what I can remember, saying that Liam Gallagher with Beady Eye had created a great british rock band. Also the teaser with the short clip of Gem's guitar part from Sons Of The Stage sounded really cool. So I expected a psychadelic pop/rock-album with both melodic songs like I'm Outta Time, and some faster and groovy rock songs with swagger and attitude. Maybe an album with parts almost as good as Oasis. Instead the first taste of their first album was a mediocre retro 50's Jerry Lee Lewis-inspired effort. The song also drags on for way too long, a problem that also became apparent on Kill For A Dream, which the guys obviously belived would be their "Hey Jude" (it wasn't). I was massivly disappointed, and the only thing I can say was cool or good about the song was the part where Liam almost whispers "c'mon, c'mon, c'mon". I hadn't heard him sing like that before, and liked how it sounded. I really enjoyed Four Letter Word and The Roller, which got me excited for the album again, but Bring The Light is not one of my favorites, I have to say.

Speaking of BDi, does anyone know when work on the third album is to start?
Thanks.

Liam was having a bad night but I absolutely loved the new bit they added to the song starting at 2:50 for the BE tour, wish it was on the album version, sounds fucking brilliant.

Yeah I love that to Rolo. I think the song is brilliant. Why rip off the 60's when you can have a go at the 50's.

We're probably awating for Liam Gallagher's solo album. There's nothing to complain about. I personally think it's one of the most interesting moments since 1994.

It's actually the song that killed my hope for Beady Eye. That and finding out Sons of the Stage was actually a cover.

How have I never heard this? That's pretty much what the song would have sounded like on BE and it's great...Beady Eye did have a lot of potential, the pieces just never came together quite right. That being said, I still hated BTL when it was first released. Such a bad choice for the first ever impression of post-Oasis material.

It's been said many times about FLW being the first main single which it definitely should have been. But also there should have been more songs like this on the first album, proper out there Avin it type tunes. The rest of the first album is so dreary.

The first time I heard Bring The Light, I thought "Omg, this is embarassing " It's still my most hated BDI-Song... I felt the same way with Noel's single debut The Death of You And Me. I always thought it was a poor man's Importance of Being Idle.
