these are mine, whats yours??
Straw - Shoplifting Released after the britpop hype of the mid 90's but imo it's one of the best britpop albums ever. Great melodies, great lyrics filled with humour
Mansun - Six there's a fine line between brilliant and completely over the top. Six almost crossed that line but it's filled with amazing moments
Pulp - This Is Hardcore Their best album in my opinion, sadly not a lot of people agree

The ambition and size of the album combined with so many truly fantastic songs deserved so much better than it got review and sales wise

If by underrated you mean respected but not as known as it should be then A Storm in Heaven - The Verve / I Thought I Was An Alien - Soko If you mean well known but not given the respect it should then SOTSOG - Oasis (I think this is easily their best post - Be Here Now album and a great album overall)

I'll tell you one lp that's massively underrated it actually started all the old late 60 s early 70 s band reuniting and touring after they saw people in the states still loved and would support on road aging rockers not named mick and keith or pete and roger
Deep purple - perfect strangers ......one of the best hard rock albums of the 80 s and hardly a word mentioned or even played on classic rock ....

Especially the first one was so beautiful. It's still one of my all time favourite albums. I can listen to it again and again, never have had enought of it. Not only because of the guy who produced their albums (wink), but the quality and all that. Shame that they didn't make it further.

I'd like to nominate "Alma Mater" by the Stockholm Monsters. I discovered them as one of the lesser known Factory bands and after a while realised that I have fallen in love with their music.

Not in the UK but in general
The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses

The Modern Lovers - The Modern Lovers Not underrated by the critics but it does get forgotten about. One of the best early punk albums. Roadrunner and Pablo Picasso are two of the best rock n roll songs of all time.
Super Furry Animals - Rings Around the World Again, not underrated by the critics but it often gets forgotten. It is a true masterpiece. A 10/10 record for sure. It is poppy, experimental, funny, elegant, and loud. I recently rediscovered it and I've fallen in love with all over again. One of the best records of the past 15 years.
Alvvays - Alvvays This came out this year. It is a brief 9 song set of 9 nearly perfect songs. There have been better artistic albums this year but I don't think I've enjoyed an album as much as this one.
FIDLAR - FIDLAR Still one of the best rock n roll/punk albums released in the past 5 years. If you're looking for a rowdy night, this album must be on the playlist.
Ryan Adams - Cold Roses This is an par with Heartbreaker as far as I'm concerned. Ryan at the height of his game and it is a diverse set of songs.
The Go Betweens - 16 Lovers Lane One of the best early indie-pop records. If you're a fan of the Smiths then you really need to check out this band. Love Goes On and Streets of Your Town are sublime songs.
Oasis - Standing on the Shoulders of Giants Its not a bad album. Hell its not even mediocre, I think its pretty good record to be honest. It has 3 mediocre tracks and a couple over blown moments but its has some down right amazing moments (Gas Panic).
Pavement - Brighten the Corners None of Pavement's albums are critically hated but this one and Terror Twilight are often assumed to be the worst. That may be true but this album is just a great listen. Pavement doing what Pavement does best. Some of stephen malkmus's the best lyrics are on this album. The last two tracks are just stunning.

VASTLY They are underrated everywhere except in England. Here in Italy nobody knows them, not even people who are into rock music. I'm 20 and I know them because I heard Noel (or Liam, I can't remember) speaking about them. And then I started listening to the Roses. Great band indeed!

Soundtrack Of Our Lives' Behind The Music is hardly mentioned but has great melodies and killer riffs. strong songwriting, it also probably changed Noel's sound for Oasis.

Another one for me is.
Ride's second album Going Blank Again. Nowhere is a classic, but their second album has two of their top five songs for me: Leave Them All Behind and Twisterella. Overall Going Blank Again isn't a classic like Nowhere but it is a great album. Some really good songs on there.
The Stone Roses really are underrated outside the US. Their debut is perfect and honestly Second Coming isn't that horrible. Matter fact I'll actually put it on here. Second Coming is bloated and really lacks the classic magic of their debut and early singles/b sides but it has some really great songs on there. It's kinda like the precursor to BNH in some ways. Still as imperfect as the Second Coming is and given how long it came to come out its still a decent album. I'd probably rate in the range of a 6.5-7.5/10. It's not a great album but its good. If you like the Roses it has some of their best songs, but don't expect another classic. Disappointing maybe but not terrible.
Straight to the Man, Love Spreads are really great Roses songs. Plus I think Daybreak, Breaking Into Heaven, How Do You Sleep, Tears, Begging You, Ten Storey Love Song, and some of the others are worth your time if your a Roses fan. I think if people listen to the album with open ears they might find that they really like those songs. The Roses are just such a great band. Their melodic leads with their bouncy and vibing rhythm section was really unique. Reni and Mani are some of the best and most unique players ever. John is doing his best Page impression but still the guitar work on most of second coming is excellent.

The Housemartins - The People Who Grinned Themselves To Death Dug this up recently, and impressed at how good these songs still are. Not much notice in the States. Sounds similar to lmore pop-oriented Oasis tunes. Wonder if they were an influence at all?

Teenage Fanclub - Grand Prix: An unheralded album from the Britpop era. Packs good melody and is a perfect pop album. Bruce Springsteen - Tunnel of Love: One of my favourite albums from him, no E-Street band but stripped back and reveals a vulnerability to it like no other Springsteen album, in my opinion the greatest break-up album with Blood On The Tracks.
