I'll be honest, I didn't know who Terry Kirkbride was until he was mentioned on here in regards to the ITHOTM video. I literally just wiki'ed him as I typed the previous sentence - he was the drummer on Noel's TCT 2007 (Dreams We Have As Children Live Album)?! Well, that makes this thread even more significant...
Is there any news on who the drummer is? Any chance it's Terry Kirkbride?
I presume the rest of the lineup is the same as before, which is fine with me - although the lead guitarist I'm iffy about: He either fucked up the LTL solo, or Noel re-arranged it poorly.
Either way, that drummer from NGHFB needs to bugger right off. (Jeremy Stacey is his name, thanks again Wiki). Oasis always had good drummers, most notably Alan White and Chris Sharrock - I probably prefer Whitey for reasons of nostalgia, but Chris is up there with him. And Whereas many, myself included, didn't care for Starkey's style, he was most certainly accomplished.
The same cannot be said about this Jeremy Stacey bloke. Even with live performances, where there's no Dave fucking Sardy to blame, it's still: Plod, Pold, Fucking Plod.
Terry Kirkbride would be a perfect fit, and would restore the drumming back to what we came to expect with Oasis.
Is it possible he's been asked to replacde Stacey?

Tongue in Cheek: After all, Noel does sing in ITHOTM "At the sound of the drums, I'm going to set you free." A clue, Sherlock!

I've never seen Terry playing on a full kit, just that small kit he was playing almost one handed with Noel and Gem, but it sounded nice. I think Stacey played on the album so I'd expect him to stay, unfortunately. Hopefully Gem tours as the guitarist.

Hopefully Gem tours as the guitarist. That Beady Eye are no more makes this all the more possible. Hell, get Sharrock in on drums as well.

jeremy stacy is a word class drummer. any perusal of his credits on wiki will show this. the heavy handed approach he took live was noel's call. so blame him.

Yeah the drumming really bothers me, but Stacey is a great drummer actually. At first I was completely wrong about him, thinking it was his style. If you youtube him you'll find out he's a good drummer. It's Noely G's fault, really.

If Stacey wasn't a fat lump, nobody would give a shit who Noel's session drummer was. Pretty sad that people care that much

It's total balls to suggest Jeremy Stacey is a bad drummer, he's played with many great artists, I have the Ryan Adams albums he appears on and he's fantastic - the only reason he gets criticised is because Sardy and Noel seem hellbent on wanting a plodding style as if they are - yet a-fucking-gain - looking towards the Beatles for inspiration.

Exactly. Listen to the latest Ryan Adams album and you'll see that Jeremy is an excellent drummer.

Ringo wasn't always plodding. Didn't say Ringo was plodding - I said they are trying to attempt to re-create The Beatles sound (yet again, and in this day and age of sophisticated studio practices, pretty pathetic) - but Noel and Dave Sardy seem to mix up plodding with a slow steady beat of which Ringo was great at. For example, A Day In The Life is a slow steady beat but those drum fills are pretty neat. At least with Heat of the Moment, Noel seems to have got the idea.

Oh I see. Yeah that's one of their biggest mistakes. It makes the songs sound incredibly slow and dull

Isn't there a quote from Noel about Terry being too unstable to tour with or something?
Noel's guitar work has became so lazy on the last Oasis tour and he seems to have brought that approach into his HFB arrangements. Tim was on here borderline moaning about it after people were slagging him off for being boring.
Noel should poach Chris Sharrock now. He plays with a great energy.

Terry has played on a few Oasis tracks.
Mucky Fingers Lord Don't Slow Me Down Cast No Shadow (UNKLE Beachhead Mix) Weight of The World
And I think he also played on Sittin' Here In Silence (On My Own).
It wouldn't surprise me if he played on a few of the Don't Believe The Truth Demos and the early versions which were leaked a few years ago.

I believe he also took drum duties on Those Swollen Hand Blues and the DBBT era demo of Let There Be Love, since they were probably recorded at the same session (at least parts of LTBL) at Strangeways with Paul Stacey as MF/LDSMD. I'm quite sure he played drums on the alternate versions of The Turning & Waiting For The Rapture, which were recorded in the same setting, but after the DOYS sessions. I'm also wondering if he played on any of these DBBT demos that were leaked. There's even picture proof from September/October 2004 that he was recording in LA with the band, even though Zak Starkey is credited on drums for all the songs they recorded with Sardy.

One more thing: IF the Death in Vegas sessions would have turned out to be Oasis 6th official album, Terry Kirkbride would probably be more in the spotlight than he is now. I like him, always kind of reminded me of Alan White (see Shoot A Hole Into The Sun, it's pure Whitey shuffle) drummingwise, with the additional bonus of a good haircut.
