During that new rock revolution scene back in 2001 with the Strokes and The White Stripes, the band that stood out from the trail were the Hives, the Swedish Punk pop outfit. I'm remember having Your New Favourite Band on non stop and Hate to Say I Told You So been one of the greatest singles of that time. Also after seen them two times during that era, they were one awesome live act. Although ever since they been releasing the same Mc5/Sonics/Stooges type sounds (they did mix it up with Timbaland for The Black and White Album although it lead to mix results) and they still have a loyal fanbase and tour non stop.

So anyone else a fan?

Yes, I definitely love them. Saw them live 6 years ago in support of the Black and White album tour. I didn't enjoy that album much until I saw them do it live. I think their latest Lex Hives is their least best but still a decent listen.

I've been listening to their b-sides and early songs recently too: Uptight, Hell No, Hives Meet the Norm, Ramanda, Cellblock, Fever, Untutored Youth. All good tracks.

The band who never released a bad album. Even their last one, 'Throw It To The Universe', is really good.

I like the Hives, too, but I gets pretty bored when I listen to them. Bored is maybe the wrong word, but after I've heard 10-15 songs in a row I feel that I had enough for a very long time. It kind of annoys me that they rarely play live shows here in Sweden, though. Think they played one gig last year or something.

Thanks for this. Their recent song Good Samaritan was my favourite song of 2020 and just might be one of my favourite Hives songs too.
