Not that im a fan or anything, but i was always wondering, what makes Noel hate this band so much ? I mean, to me they were just like all the rest of indie rock little bands. A few catchy singles, rest is probably shite, but what makes them so much worse then the rest of this genre ?

Wasn't Noel on Jo Whiley show with the frontman a few years back.I always thought their debut album Employment was really underrated and is one of the better British pop indie albums of the last 14 years. I thought they were every bit as influenced by Oasis as they were by Blur. I thought they were like a modern day Madness myself. After the first album it became patchy. Their greatest hits is a great listen though and they are a great live band.

It could be that he's met Ricky Wilson and discovered him to be a total arse. Now, I don't want to sound like I'm begrudging success from back home, but when Wilson used to be around local venues in his Parva and early Kaiser Chiefs days he was quite astoundingly arrogant even then, so I shudder to think what he's like now. In fact, I've had reports from others less fortunate than me who were forced into watching The Voice that his level of smugness has reached such epic proportions these days that he spent most of the series attempting to eat himself.
Or it could just be that their music, apart from perhaps one track, started off plain annoying and has only gone backwards from there since.

Noel, on the Kaiser Chiefs: “I did drugs for 18 years and I never got that bad as to say, ‘You know what? I think the Kaiser Chiefs are brilliant.’”
Noel, again on the Kaiser Chiefs: “The worst thing about them is that they’re not very good. They play dress-up and sit on top of an apex of meaninglessness. They don’t mean anything to anybody apart from their fucking ugly girlfriends.”
"I'm right into the Blur reunion, [because] it'll finish off the Kaiser Chiefs and put them to bed," Gallagher told the U.K.'s The Sun tabloid.
"There's nothing worse than a shit Blur," he continued. "And at least the original shit Blur are back to finish off all these other shit Blurs."
They love the Kaiser Chiefs!

That's in my top 20 Noel's quotes though.

I haven't checked out all of their stuff but I know the singles and a few other tracks and I like most of what I've heard. Also, I have seen them live last year and they were great! Fun to watch, interaction, sounded good. Nothing wrong with them in my eyes.
Ricky Wilson has changed quite a bit over the years. He lost quite a lot of weight and changed his looks. It looks as if he became more arrogant too though. That doesn't bother me.

If you like Oasis, there is a high probability that you will like the KC. He even stated that the 4th album was inspired by BHN. Especially the second album is great, imo. Also, the first singles from the last album: Coming Home and Misery Company. Some of the best tunes this year.

I love the Chiefs. Seen them live too. I like how they managed to make a great record even without Nick.
