OASIS rocker NOEL GALLAGHER's ex-wife MEG MATTHEWS is being treated for depression at a London rehab clinic. The 39-year-old checked herself in for treatment last week (ends13AUG06), and reportedly fears she could stand to lose custody of daughter ANAIS, six, if she doesn't work on her mental health. Matthews married the DON'T LOOK BACK IN ANGER guitarist in 1997 but they split just four years later (01), marking Matthews' first slump into depression. A pal of Matthews - who helped KATE MOSS after her stint in rehab last year (05) - tells British newspaper the Daily Mirror, "Meg has reached rock bottom. "Since she and Noel split, she hasn't found lasting love. But she's taking control now and is determined to turn over a new leaf." Matthews' spokesperson JJ MURRAY-LEACH says, "I can confirm Meg is receiving treatment... She is suffering from depression and needs time out." hope she gets better, i've had a couple family members go though depression and its not nice at all, to say the least.

I wish meg all the best . and love in her life down the road, after her treatment..
she's been a single mom for a long time... (but seems very well taken care of $ wise . lucky for her.)
my one and only criticism of noel is that he does not amicably spend some time with meg and anais.. this is a BIG mistake on his part and his daughter suffers from it. i have read where meg said a cup of coffee now and then as a family wld be nice. I agree...
this will be good opportunity for peggy to spend time with anais..
even tho I am not sure why isn't noel watching her full time ? who knows..

I mean I should not judge but yeah.... and IF by chance it has anything to do with sara, then sara has some serious bad karma coming.. sara has slagged off meg publicly.. it's just bad news... esply for the sake of anais.. stay in those shadows *sara.. * hehe I am not a big sara fan either.. can you tell ? |

Good luck to Meg. Imagine how difficult it must have been to get help in her position.
I wouldn't wish clinical depression on anyone.

You could argue that Tommy didn't exactly give fatherhood a good name and Noel has baggage from that relationship.
And maybe Noel thinks Peggy is the best place for her to be right now. He's still doing a lot of coming and going, but at Peggy's her life will be much more settled and regular.
