It takes a great musician to see the greatness of others.
I've always felt that the Foo is the American counterpart to Oasis.
Two bands that make simply excellent rock n roll tunes with no stupid gimmicks.
Amen

When I saw Oasis at the Y-100 Festival in Philadelphia in December 1999 (Gem and Andy's first ever Oasis gig) the Foo Fighters went on before Oasis. Dave made mention during the Foos set that I bet you'd all be up and rocking if Oasis was on the stage right now which got a big cheer from the crowd. Cool times.

Don't listen to any Dave Grohl, but it sure is nice to see someone offering words of praise to Oasis for once. Don't know why, but the Gallagher's alway seem to get a rough deal from critics and peers alike...

A tour rider of yours said you would only share a dressing room with “Supergrass, Oasis or maybe Led Zeppelin.” Have any new bands made the list?Dave Grohl: "I think we might make exceptions for the Kaiser Chiefs or the Futureheads. Maybe for Death from Above 1979, High on Fire or Mastodon. Everybody else can eat shit. Get your own fuckin’ room."

Dave is just one of those nice guys. Really seems like a easy guy to get along with. He knows a good bit music so its always nice to see Oasis get some love, especially from an American rock star as big as Grohl. Him hanging out with Noel/Liam would be a sight to see. Would love to hear what they talk about. 3 of the biggest rockers of their generation.
That said the Foo Fighters aren't really that good in my opinion, but Grohl has written a couple nice simple rock songs. He's trying to carry on the rock n roll torch, and for that I'll always respect him.

Noel Gallagher and Dave Grohl playing together, plus add in Johnny Marr. I'd tell em to shut the fuck up and take my money if that happened, it'd be awesome.

As I've said before, I recommend everyone go back and listen to the Foos' album There Is Nothing Left to Lose. For me it's their best album, and one of my favorite albums of all time. Aurora and Ain't It the Life are incredible songs

He's trying to carry on the rock n roll torch, and for that I'll always respect him. Foos have a bunch of enjoyable songs here and there, but indeed it is fairly simplistic. Everlong is truly the only classic song Grohl has ever written.
