(thought I'd make a separate thread but if mods feel like merging it into the other, then go ahead)
I'm still listening to a heck of a lot of Morrissey, probably too much. But I find that I really am enjoying going through his back catalogue. I've not heard all his albums but I'm almost there.
I just listened to Maladjusted recently and I've heard this album gets a lot of flack for being supposedly horrible but it's really not bad at all. Decent album, got some great tracks like Ammunition, Alma Maters (which I'm listening to at the moment), Lost, Trouble Loves Me, and Satan Rejected my Soul. What are your thoughts on this album?
But to the point - Rank the Morrissey albums in your order of preference
Great Your Arsenal World Peace Ringleader of the Tormentors Vauxhall and I Viva Hate
Good You are the Quarry Bona Drag (even though its a compilation) Swords Maladjusted Years of Refusal
Not too Bothered Southpaw Grammar Kill Uncle

Good idea! My ranking:
Brillant (10/10) 1. Your Arsenal 2. Vauxhall and I
Great 3. Viva Hate 4. Southpaw Grammar (2009 reissue - adds a lot of quality) 5. You Are The Quarry 6. Kill Uncle (same, but I enjoy the original as well)
Good 7. World Peace Is None Of Your Business (could be "great" - time will tell) 8. Maladjusted 9. Ringleader of the Tormentors
Not too bothered 10. Years of Refusal
(The remaining b-sides of the 1988-1995 era would probably fit into the "great" category as well.)
The thing about Maladjusted is that despite its very high highs (I'd call Trouble Loves Me one of the five best songs Morrissey has ever done, a complete masterpiece), much of the album is filler and very uninspired. Ambitious Outsiders, He Cried, Heir Apparent, Wide to Receive, I Can Have Both, Now I Am A Was...all very bland for his standards. Ammunition, Alma Matters, Trouble Loves Me, Lost, Satan Rejected My Soul, the title track though...all great imo.

As everyone on here knows, I'm a huge The Smiths fan and I can talk endless about them, but I'm not much familiar to all the Moz albums to be honest, so here's my best. Til today still "Viva Hate!" means a lot to me, but his new album is definitely one of the best work Moz has done in his entire solo career.
1. Viva Hate! 2. World Peace 3. Your Arsenal 4. Ringleader Of Tormentors 5. You Are The Quarry

Vauxhall and I Your Arsenal Bona Drag (will count it even though its singles and b-sides collection) World Peace (delighted this has held up so well) Viva Hate You Are The Quarry ---------------------- Ringleaders Kill Uncle Maladjusted Southpaw Grammer Years of Refusal
Those top 6 for me are really great and I could listen to them all day - Vauxhall and I though will never be surpassed.
