I spoke with Alex again. Andy is going to allow him to use the name. Might be a new album coming the middle of next year. Lots of shows being lined up though.
The lineup will be
Alex Lowe
Giancarlo Mariani
Paul Quinn (teenage fanclub)
Not sure about a 4th member.
Alex has had a tough go with kidney cancer and got some bad news last week. This will be good for him and the band. I'm looking forward to see what they do.

I just youtubed some Hurricane #1 and my God they were diabolically shit. Really typical of all the generic Oasis copyists that ruined the scene. Ride are a lot better but they still don't really do anything for me.
Liam and Noel really were the best thing to happen to Andy.

I can confirm this - i did a gig the other night with a garage rock band from hull, and was amazed to find that their manager used to manage Hurricane#1. It was only upon speaking to him i found out that not only were the band reuniting, but that Andy might be in the lineup. Fingers crossed for new material!
It was inevitable that Hurricane would reform and not Ride. although Ride were a more successful outfit, Andy always tried to steer them in a more mainstream, oasis-esque direction. Just hope they play some of the rarer B-sides live (Smoke Rings etc.)
I hope they get Gareth back on drums - left handed drumming on a righty kit really opens up possibilities for non standard patterns
EDIT: Looks like andy might not be there, shame, got really hyped aha

Ride is gonna play PRIMAVERA SOUND 2015 in Barcelona. That canvas is in Barcelona, last week there was another with "The Strokes" written in it and they are now confirmed to play so...  |
