Sorry if this has already been mentioned. Couldn't see it anywhere.
im sure Noel mentioned that he gave Lock all the doors to the chemical brothers. Any one know of this? I thought it might have been sampled for setting sun, but they don't sound similar.
I might be making this up, I am getting old in my old age!

You're right. He said this on the Facebook Q&A. I think he confused it with Comin On Strong.

This has been mentioned before, and it has been said that he most likely mixed the two of them up. That's not strange, considering that both demos sound alike.

I don't know about the chemical brothers being involved but my heart sank when I saw that song on the tracklistings!
After noels unfinished masterpieces stop the clocks and record machine, for me, ending up being the 2 worst most boring songs on the last album. They sounded stale and dated. I am not a fan of those 2 songs at all ( if you hadn't already guessed that).
Then to here noel has finished a 200 year old song that has already had part of its riff used in another song is hardly exciting stuff!!
I hope I am wrong but I really don't think much of the rough demo and unless it sounds like a completely different song it will end up the same way as stop the clocks and record machine.
If noel wants to give me a call in future I will help him with his trackisting haha. He needs someone to say what's crap and what's not- not a nodding dog praising everything he comes up with!
After all that watch it end up being a beltin tune now!! Haha

Either way the song on the album is quite a bit shorter than both of them so it must be reworked quite a lot. It means it's less likely that we'll get some old skool Noel guitar licks I guess which is a shame, the solos on Setting Sun are great.

Nice one. Cheers. Lock all the doors chorus is a belter, so I'm happy he has done a final version, I hope it will be a proper arms in the arm sing a long one!

Yeah, Noel got them mixed up. Just like at the Zanzibar gig he mixed up the titles It's A Crime and Revolution Song.

I personally don't think he mixed up the title. He "might" have given the Chemical Brothers both tracks to work on and only "Settting Sun" worked out. Sorta like how Noel offered that Jude Law film (Love, Honor, Obey) "Force of Nature" and "Little By Little". Eventually Noel decided to hold LBL back because it was too strong.

He didn't sing it, someone from the audience shouted out for him to sing 'It's a Crime' he told the audience member it was called the 'Revolution Song' - and then played a standard Oasis songs for the rest of the set.

Aww right. The version of stop the clocks during that gig, is by far my favourite.
