From the Press Association:
Rolling Stone Mick Jagger has taken voice coaching lessons. The singer had strutted his stuff without ever having a lesson for 35 years. But he found that the teaching helped him warm up his famous vocal chords. Jagger, 63, told Virgin Radio: “Better late than never. “I did a bit of voice coaching a couple of years ago, after 35 years with no voice coaching. “A bit of voice coaching and warm-ups ... really helps. “I always tell these younger singers ‘I never used to do it either but you should’. “A lot of people have voice problems - not just older people, younger people too. “I was speaking to Joss Stone and I mean you sing a lot, every night you are singing for hours and hours and your voice gets tired, like anything, like running every night, that’s why you have to warm up properly. I just learnt that so that’s probably helped me.”

I don't think Liam's voice is really recoverable to be honest. I think its just too damaged.

I don't buy into the whole "damaged voice" thing so much. First of all, it's not fair to compare Liam's voice now as opposed to when the band started out because he's older now. When Oasis started, he was just a kid and his voice sounded smooth and had a better range. Now he can't quite reach all the notes and his voice has dropped. You can listen to John Lennon on Please Please Me and then compare that to a recording 10+ years later, and there's quite an obvious difference, and certainly he didn't destroy his vocal chords. I mean, hell, only a year after my band recorded our album my voice is extremely different now than it was then. I think Liam would do well to have some really solid vocal training because it would probably help his voice from getting so flat, but as far as his voice being permanently damaged, it happens to all of us. It's called aging.

lennons voice remained around the same place. his voice grew stronger. he elarned how to sing different styles. liam just fucked it up from putting to much strain on it. that happens.
