Dave Grohl always speaks positively about Noel or Oasis, and Noel obviously likes Nirvana so I'm sure there's mutual respect between the two of them. I'm not a fan of the Foo Fighters at all but I do respect Dave Grohl as a musician and a writer. Haven't the Foo Fighters supported Oasis before?? Why would he allow a band he hates to support his band haha. Also I've seen photos of them two hanging out so I'm sure this isn't true. Foo Fighters has become way to big as a band Sonic Highways has their momments but the tunes arent there(shockly Wasting Light was in my opinion their best one). Oasis supported Foo Fighters(or the other way around) on the US in 1999

What times are fans arriving to the venues to see Noel for autographs/sound checks and such? I'll probably head down early now that I don't have to work when the Royal Oak gig comes around.

Review of Noel's Warfield gig: www.sfweekly.com/shookdown/2015/05/19/chasing-the-moment-with-noel-gallagher-at-the-warfieldChasing The Moment With Noel Gallagher at The Warfield
Posted By Ed Saincome on Tue, May 19, 2015 at 10:08 AM Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds May 18, 2015 The WarfieldBetter Than: Getting ripped off for an extra $10 by the parking machine outside the venue. If the euphoric reaction from the crowd to Noel Gallagher closing his encore set with the Oasis mega-hit “Don't Look Back In Anger” was any indication, the fans who filled The Warfield Monday night may indeed have been Chasing Yesterday. It seemed everyone in the building had been eagerly anticipating their chance to sing “Soooooo Sally can waaaaaait!” at the top of their lungs — and no one dared to miss it. Members of the crowd waved their arms and swayed their bodies like it was Knebworth in 1996. However, Gallagher himself seems to be living in the moment. Opening the night with the driving “Do The Damage”, a bonus track off Chasing Yesterday (Gallagher's latest album), the set consisted of a nearly equal number of tracks off Chasing Yesterday and 2011's Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds with five Oasis songs sprinkled in for good measure. But no matter where the source material had originated from, Gallagher and his Birds preformed each song with a steady professionalism, delivering a solid, honest-to-goodness rock ’n’ roll show. Technically proficient, sonically pleasing with subtle psychedelic overtones, and backed by simple but effective lighting and graphics, The Birds soared through an over 90-minute long set. In the Oasis days, the Gallagher brothers were known maybe as much for their attitudes as their Beatles-meets-Sex Pistols anthems, and Noel, now 47, can still entertain with his wit as much with his songs. Gallagher was living in the moment, and demanded his audience do the same. He seemed playfully annoyed throughout the night at the amount of cell phone use on the floor in front of him. Early on in the set he asked one fan on his phone, “Are you ordering hookers?” Then told the fan he should have arranged all that before the gig, but if he was indeed ordering hookers, Gallagher was interested himself. When one audience member heckled Gallagher asking him something like, “Is your brother (Liam, the lead singer of Oasis) here?” Gallagher responded with mock confusion, “Who? Your brother? I don't know your brother, is he here? No, he's not here.” About 45 minutes later he asked another fan, “Are you still taking pictures? Live in the moment, never mind your fucking phone.” And perhaps that fan should have been living in the moment, because the emotional high of the night followed next, as Gallagher wanted to know where were we when Oasis was getting high. In other words, it was time for another Oasis hit, “Champagne Supernova”. The stripped down acoustic version of the classic track off (What's The Story) Morning Glory? accentuated the nostalgic quality of the song, and had the crowd full of people who were probably getting high to the song when it was released back in 1995 singing along to every word. The dichotomous pull of Chasing Yesterday and “living in the moment” could be felt throughout the night, with both yesterday and today having their exciting moments. Solo era-Gallagher ballad-anthems “Dying of the Light”, and especially “If I Had a Gun”, have the same mesmerizing attributes as Oasis classics like, “Wonderwall” or “Don't Look Back in Anger.” And while the nostalgia of Oasis B-sides “Fade Away” and “The Master Plan” is without a doubt powerful to experience, the Buzzcocks-esque soaring punk of “Lock All The Doors” (written in the early Oasis days but not finished and released until 2015) kicks up the energy like “Bring it On Down” might once have, and stands alone as a great song. Gallagher seems to have found a comfort and confidence as a solo artist, putting on an exciting and well-rounded show. Yet, there is also no doubt of the shadow cast by one of biggest rock bands of all time being present in the minds of those who came to see Mr. Gallagher and his High Flying Birds. Right now, it's probably best to “live in the moment” and enjoy the show for what it is, and who's to say when yesterday might come calling again? After all, next year is the 20th anniversary of Knebworth. Critics Notebook:
– Gallagher noted that the local brass section for the night was “The best we've had in America” which lead to the three dudes in the back with horns ecstatically highfiving each other. – Gallagher seemed real upset that it was cold in San Francisco, “It's a different fucking city when it's cold. They don't show this weather on the adverts.” – I would have loved to hear more and different Oasis B-sides which Noel sang like, “Half The World Away” “Talk Tonight” and “Going Nowhere” because I'm that guy. Setlist:
Do the Damage (Stranded On) The Wrong Beach Everybody's on the Run Fade Away (Oasis cover) In the Heat of the Moment Lock All the Doors Riverman / The Death of You and Me You Know We Can't Go Back Champagne Supernova (Oasis cover) Ballad of the Mighty I Dream On The Dying of the Light The Mexican AKA... Broken Arrow Digsy's Dinner (Oasis cover) If I Had a Gun... Encore: The Masterplan (Oasis cover) AKA... What a Life! Don't Look Back in Anger (Oasis cover)

Another review of Warfield. There are some good photos on the website at the bottom of the article. www.digitaldiversion.net/2015/05/noel-gallaghers-high-flying-birds-may-18-2015/Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds | May 18, 2015 Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds
Noel Gallagher brought his High Flying Birds to San Francisco on their “Keep It Dangerous Tour” for what amounted to an incredibly intimate show despite the venue’s capacity. Billed as an “evening with,” there was no opener and by the time the band took the stage at 8:10, people were expectantly waiting in their seats. The “evening with” approach set a relaxed mood for the evening … no rush and no fuss … everything tuned and ready to go from the moment the doors open. Kicking the set off with Do the Damage from their 2014 EP, In the Heat of the Moment, the Birds settled right into a casual groove that made the 90 minute set fly by all-too-fast. While this was a seated show, once the band started no one was sitting. And without a barricade up front, Noel was clearly intent on those standing just a few feet in front of him, at one point remarking to someone typing away on their phone, “are you searching for hookers on your phone?” Noel fielded any-and-all between-song shouts deftly and humorously, keeping things light, shrinking the room. At one point Noel looked down at a fan and asked, “are you going to put this on YouTube?” before going on to deliver a personalized PSA in which he declared that “San Francisco is fucking freezing” before announcing that he was going to play Champagne Supernova. When a crowd member threw up the metal horns, Noel chastised him in good fun, “don’t fucking do that!” While the handful of Oasis tunes elicited the greatest reaction from the crowd, this crowd wasn’t there for the nostalgia, alone. (Stranded On) The Wrong Beach had the crowd rapt with attention and for good reason … large or small, Gallagher simply owns the stage. Vocals on point and with the band as tight as can be, the only downside of this show was that it was simply too short. Setlist:
Do the Damage (Stranded On) The Wrong Beach Everybody’s on the Run Fade Away (Oasis cover) In the Heat of the Moment Lock All the Doors Riverman The Death of You and Me You Know We Can’t Go Back Champagne Supernova (Oasis cover) Ballad of the Mighty I Dream On The Dying of the Light The Mexican AKA… Broken Arrow Digsy’s Dinner (Oasis cover) If I Had a Gun… –Encore– The Masterplan (Oasis cover) AKA… What a Life! Don’t Look Back in Anger (Oasis cover)

Good spirits in LA tonite. Packed house (assuming the balcony was as full as it was downstairs). Tim got scolded (in good humor) for trying to make a joke out of him being compared to Robert Redford. Not sure I've heard him actually speak on stage before?! CS and DLBIA got the biggest response of the nite it seemed, but surprisingly a good response to the new stuff as well. No opening act, which was fine. Sounded brilliant in the room, great acoustics in that place , think he messed up the LATD solo a bit but who cares! Wish LA crowds were as a bit more 'into it' than they are but same with all LA gigs no matter who is on stage.

Thanks for posting the review of the LA gig Zatine87. I was fortunate enough to go to both Southern California shows: San Diego Humphrey's Concerts by the Bay: This was the most special concert I've ever been to. The location was awesome. On a small island in San Diego. Noel came out a few hours before the gig to sign autographs, although the security guards said he would not be posing for photos. Unfortunately, I didn't get anything autographed. The actual venue is located inside of a small resort, so many of the people staying in the hotel could actually get a view of the venue from their balconies! To the left of the actual stage was the ocean, where many of local residents boat's were docked. I was in the front row, and interacted with Noel a little bit. During Digsy's Diner he looked me and I made a funny face to which he responded with a bewildered look followed by a smile. At the end of the gig I got his attention and he smiled again. It was so awesome! I will never forget this show. LA Orpheum Theater: Noel seemed really upbeat for the LA show. In San Diego, he seemed to be a little more tired and irritated. I was up in the balcony, so my experience was completely different, but it was really special because I brought my younger brother, who is a huge Oasis fan now, and this was actually his first concert! The setlist for both shows were the same. Not a bad thing at all! I think I saw a few people from this forum at the LA show (I've been on the board for a long time, and I have seen some of your pictures with Noel and Liam). I didn't realize that Noel still has such a strong fan base here in Southern California! Great to see Noel and everyone

Does anyone know what song Noel dedicated to Frances? I'm going to guess Digsys Dinner or Fade Away because Definitely Maybe is her favorite Oasis album.

Thanks for all the tour reports and great finds on the web, everybody. It's great that some forum members were able to catch Noel and that he was generally in good spirits. And about Joseph Armstrong - does this mean Noel has changed his mind about Green Day? Although to be fair, he seemed to dislike Green Day fans more than the band itself.

A great week so far---SF, LA, James Corden show taping yesterday (Noel on the couch of US talk show!), and Vegas tonight. We were told Noel's Late Late Show appearance should air first week of June.

When is the best time to be at the venue so you could catch him in time to sign something for you?

...and by the way dave grohl fronts one of the biggest bands in the world. i'm sure he gives two shits what noel gallagher thinks. i think he might. he has alot of respect for noel & oasis... but personally, i dont think she really spoke to him. or at least not as described. noel likes the foo fighters, and hes always been pretty diplomatic when speaking about liam & beady eye.
