Hello all! I just started getting into oasis after writing them off for many years. Back in the early 90's when they were getting lots of airplay in the US the only songs I ever heard were champagne supernova and wonderwall. I thought the songs were ok but mostly ignored them. Well with the state music is in now I have spent lots and lots of time looking for new(new for me anyway) bands to get into and I came across the track cigarettes and alcohol and it blew me away. I went right out and bought definitaly maybe and loved it so much I bought morning glory. Now I'm hooked. I have a question as well. I have looked around the forum and noticed that oasis did quite a bit of cover songs live. So far I have my generation(awesome) and I am the walrus. Can anyone tell me what other songs they covered and maybe links to download them? Thanks for any info/link.

Congrats on re-discovering Oasis. Noel played All You Need Is Love once. The version of Come Together is actually Noel with Paul McCartney and Paul Weller for a charity CD. Some people think Step Out so closely resembles Uptight by Stevie Wonder you could almost say it's a cover. In recent years some of the performances of Cigarettes & Alcohol went into Whole Lotta Love before they finished the song. The Sound and Vision section is where people post links. It's full of bootlegs of live stuff, so it might help to comb it with the search option for the songs you want. Or request them. And welcome!

to be someone and carnation by the jam How could I forget? Noel has also played That's Entertainment with Paul Weller (of that same band.) They also covered Dr. John's I Walk On Guilded Splinters on Weller's Stanley Road album.

I love Weller's version too. Cool tune is that!
