The Beastie Boys were my favorite rappers for the longest time. Pauls Boutique is my favorite rap album of all time but they werent the best rappers ever. After that Ready to Die, The Marshall Mathers LP, and Illmatic are my three favorite rap albums of all time. So im going to pick the artists from those albums. W/ an honorable mention to Ghostface for the Ironman CD. Tupac was great but inconsistent. Even his greatest hits CD has songs I wanna skip.

Yeah I like the Beastie Boys, too.
Used to be a big fan of The Streets but I now see him (Mike Skinner) as vastly average.
When Eminem actually wants to be, he can be quite good too. A lot of his stuff is just stupid nonsense, though.

A lot missing from that list, and Kanye shouldn't be on it.

Why isn't Ice T on the list?

I'm gonna say it's a toss up between Common and Q-Tip. (How they're not on this list but The Game is is beyond me.)

Kanye is on the P.Diddy level of rapping in terms of natural ability.

Not a massive rap fan to be honest. But Eminem is the best I've ever heard. BIG would be a close 2nd but i just think Eminem is/was the best. He's gone down hill lately but in his prime he was unbelievable.
Very clever lyrics but also always manages to put some humour in there too, which is what i like about him. Especially the Slim Shady alter ego, those were his best IMO

Never enjoyed rap. I guess I'll go with eminem as he's the only one I'm vaguely familiar with.
Well, 50 cent too, but that's only because of his movie.

Common fell off spectacularly, Q-Tip hasn't done enough in his solo career, with A Tribe Called Quest yes, but not solo. Common still puts out some great stuff. It may not be as strong as his older material, but look at Nas. Though his untitled album a few years ago was really good, nothing he's done has come even remotely close to Illmatic. Still doesn't mean the guy isn't one of the best. As for Q-Tip, have you listened to The Renaissance or Kamaal The Abstract? They're fantastic. May I also say that The Roots' Black Thought is one of the most underrated rappers out there? He's insanely talented and rarely gets his due credit.

I hate most of rap. If I had to choose I'd go for Eminem. He has released a few songs that were funny and alright I guess.

Voted for Snoop because he's my favorite rapper even though he's catalog is far from being the best Doggystyle is probably my most played rap album, but he isn't the best rapper by any means. His work after is hit and miss (mostly miss to be honest) but Snoop's flow is masterful. Smooth, playful but he can get gangster real quick. Gz and Hustlas is probably a top 5 rap song for me.
If you're putting Andre 3000 on there then I think you need to put Big Boi on there as well. Since Outkast have broken up he has released some really good solo stuff. Nas, Pac, and Biggie are all outstanding. I probably like Nas the most out of the three but he never could top Illmatic. Pac and Biggie were more consistent.
Jay Z in his prime was really enjoyable but he needs to stop making music. He hasn't done shit since the Black album and his wife is a better artist at this point. He sounds fat, old, and tired. You can tell he's a rich as hell because he has no hunger anymore.
I've never really been a fan of Eminem. I know he's gifted but I just don't like most of his stuff.
I miss rap groups. I love De La Sou and A Tribe Called Quest. Awesome production and pushed the limits of what rap/hip hop could be. The Roots and NWA aren't too far behind them either. Das Racist is really the only rap group that really brought something new to the genre. Shame they burnt out.
Kendrick Lamar has potential to be one of the best. Kanye isn't the best rapper but his charisma carries a lot of his rhymes. If we're talking about rapping from a technical standpoint he's a mediocre rapper but his bravado makes him a decent one to me.

De La Soul and A Tribe Called Quest are my personal favorites though.
