The biggest week of the biggest year in the decade since Kasabian released their eponymous full-length debut happened this past June, a week bookended by a massive hometown gig at Leicester’s Victoria Park and a triumphant headlining slot at Glastonbury.
They’ve since reduced their scope, playing a few weeks of shows in the United States ahead of the release of their latest album 48:13′.We sat down with Tom and Serge - read our feature here: www.live4ever.uk.com/2014/10/live4ever-exclusive-the-united-states-of-kasabian/#ixzz3FOCVw3Au
We are also giving away 5 sets of Eightball earphones....all the details in our piece.

“We’ve had shit luck in America, to be honest,” said Meighan, often the more concise of the two. “We were fucking screwed, weren’t we?”
sure it wasnt their fault.. they were screwed!! oh fuck.

I was at that Coachella gig in 2012. It was my first and only time seeing Kasabian. They put on a fabulous show. They were one of the highlights and the lineup that year was killer at Coachella. Their energy definitely leaked into the crowd. It was a great gig and it was decently packed I was surprised. They have a sound that can really connect with an American audience so its always been a little surprising to me that they've never even been a cult act here in the US.
I wouldn't call myself a Kasabian fan, I haven't really enjoyed any of their albums all the way through since their debut but they are a tremendous live act. Their pseudo experimentation with their studio stuff just isn't all that enjoyable to me. In a live setting that get away from all that and their big bombast works because of their swaggering energy.

Saw them live in DC on Sept 28, one of the best shows I've ever been to. They're amazing live and the energy they create is so awesome. I really wish they were a bigger band over here in the US only because they deserve it

It's not Kasabian, it's the US marketplace. Unless you're already established (U2, Oasis, etc), it's hard for a rock band to break America - which is a notorious cliche, but it's only gotten stronger over the last decade.

I really don't think. Oasis broke AMERICA Beady’s Here Now sadly AMERICA has really turned into a rap loving ,american idol or the voice nation. , its like the top 40 station plays ,me personally I don't like KASABIAN I never have , I take them over the crap THATS played on american mainstream radio nowadays , the youth of America , the majority of the youth I should say have gone rap , techno , and the corny crap Like idol and voice , so the bands that sell out stadiums now are the bands from my era and earlier for rock music , the 35 and overs will not really listen to kasabian en masse To me they blow , but again Id sooner hear them than fitty cent , coldplay have cracked AMERICA , but not like the old days of cracking it , oasis came real close , but blew it imo . The usa markets for rock is now more for the older people like me , we will support vh , Rush. Bruce , stones, ect ect .. But the newer bands DONT grab the the young crowd anymore en masse You still have some young people with taste ,but Not many , I listen to some of the bands the kids here tout like kasabian. I Can barely last a song @waitingforsally loves them and bands like them ,to me they blow ,yet I wish them better than the rap idiots and idol morons, when Van Halen tour I'll be there as will millions like me my age thats where rock sells ... Bands like kasabian appeal to some of the youth of today , but they don't grab the older generation , the way bands of the past did when the baton was passed from zep , to VH , to GNR , to nirvana , kasabian and the rest DONT compare to many my age so the baton has not been passed , why they won't crack america like U want ..but if u like them enjoy , you won't have to worry about seeing them in 80 000 seat venues , here like VH , bruce , stones ect ect , so at least youll. Enjoy a more intimate setting

There are definitely bands around now who you can put with the great bands of the past. Arctic Monkeys, Tame Impala, Kasabian, Foster the People, Kings of Leon, Coldplay, Foo Fighters, Explosions In the Sky, etc all deserve to be put up with the greats, but that's just my opinion. I know I'm gonna be slated for this haha

Be compared to the names I have and many more like the who , the clash , ect ect, but in 30 years if you like them as well. Great ... I dare say you will be in a minority and none of those bands. TO THE MASSES. WILL. Be held on the regard. Of zep , stones who , VH , bruce , but hey I'll be dead so knock yourself out ...I will never put any of those bandsin the rare air category m but that's my opinion , all good , no reason to knock your opinion ,your gonna listen so have fun man

These days, I really can't stand Kasabian - Serge and Tom are just incredibly annoying and their tunes are most often soulless and just plain warbling, but I cannot deny the fact they are a superb live act and they DO have killer tunes. I saw bits of their Glastonbury performance and I thought they were outstanding, so it's strange to see them struggling to pack gigs in the States. I really don't know the situation with music in America but I'm sure it says more about the state of music over there rather than anything to do with Kasabian. It seems that the US and UK are a mirror image when it comes to music - we all KNOW there are great acts out there, but their careers are being hampered because nobody know about them and there is a big struggle to form a platform for success. With the state of mainstream music these days, Kasabian are simply experiencing the problem of wrong place at the wrong time. God I hope it changes - like kalas said, I'd happily see Kasabian rule America if it meant no more god awful music.

I've never attended a bad Kasabian show. Always had a great time. For me, the sign of a good band, even if I don't like them, is when I can appreciate aspects of the band - in Kasabian's case live performances and a handful of excellent tunes. They aren't my cup of tea, but I won't deny they are a good band.

Great read, webby and well done, Crispin.
I've always enjoyed all of my 9 Kasabian gigs and also met them several times. They're lovely guys, only Tom has his "moments" once in a while. Serge and Chris are nice guys to talk with and Ian is the most friendly guy in the band.
However, I haven't got my ticket for their gig next month yet as I'm not pleased with the last 2 albums of theirs, so I don't know if I go to see them again or not.

Check out the song treat from their new album, it's incredible to me and when they play it live it is so awesome with the lights and techno elements throughout the song

Thing is that I don't like the venue they're playing next month as it's rather larger. (Heineken Music Hall where Oasis played for 2 nights in 2009). I've seen them in Paradiso for 3 times, Tivoli once with capacity of 1500, 3 times at festival, once at Heineken Music Hall and once in Forest National in Brussels. The last time when I saw them was in Paradiso 2 years ago. If they would have played in Paradiso again, I would have got my ticket on the first day when it went on sale.

The last two times I saw the band, the floor was literally shaking during the encore. I didn't experience even that at some of the latter Oasis gigs I attended.
