IF Oasis never happend, what other band would be your "Oasis"?
For me, Id of stayed mad for Morrissey/The Smiths. Thats the band/singer Id spend entire pay checks on cds/vinyl, shirts/gigs/the lot.

Basically, what you're asking is: what's your second favourite band?
Too tough to call
Oldies: Stone Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tom Petty, Verve
Newbies: Libertines, Kooks, Stereophonics
yeh, you pick a stand out band in that list...tough innit

it was only once i got into oasis that i realised the entire other musical world that existed beyond top 40 hits and mtv. so without oasis....well, i shudder to think what i would have ended up listening to. my life would be devoid of of all the music i listen to now - stone roses, the jam, sex pistols, kings of leon etc. hell, i only really got into U2 and the beatles after getting into oasis. basically, oasis saved my musical soul

Dman, Oasis opened me up to so many other bands. I'd probably listening to fookin' Green Day and whatever else was on MTV, with my head stuck firmly in the ground.
A grime fate, indeed. Thank God for Oasis!

Depends. If this is assuming I still discovered all the bands Oasis introduced me to and had the same impressions of them, I'd say Weller and the Jam equally. If you mean it literally, who knows. I was a Pink Floyd/Stones buff at the time. In terms of new stuff I was liking bands like Offspring and the Verve Pipe, so that probably would have lead to my Oasis being Nirvana. Cobain had already died at this point, though. Without Oasis the Beatles would still be that overrated band my dad listens to. Scary.

The Smiths The Jam Mimmi The Bloody Smiths hands down luv. If Oasis'd never happend, I was well into the Smiths and every other Brit band happenin. I used to listen to my local radio station, KROQ, back in the day when they actually played cool british music. They had a special daily segment called "London Calling" and this broad from London would ring up and chat bout what clubs shed just rolled out of and what pop stars shed just partied with, the whole London/British skinny, it was great, then Nirvana happend and ruined it all.
