Killer show in Stockholm yesterday, the band seemed in good spirits too (especially Ed, lovely man). I've thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Ed said he's going to release a solo album later this year. Looking forward to that.

Radiohead played Irving Plaza 20 years ago this month. Here is the guest list for that show.

Can I have your ATTENTION...........................
Lift and Man of War have leaked on reddit. Shitty quality but enough to get by until next Friday. Jonny's guitar crunch is back!

Can I have your ATTENTION........................... Lift and Man of War have leaked on reddit. Shitty quality but enough to get by until next Friday. Jonny's guitar crunch is back! They sound almost EXACTLY like the 1995/96 live version we've heard, which isn't a bad thing. Lift is tad bit slower and has some nice additional keyboard touches from Jonny during the chorus. Brilliant tunes. Can I point out the fact that Ed O'Brien basically earns his money by occasionally shouting his first name into the mic in a theatralic style...

Full blown leaks of Man of War and Lift are out. Glorious. Especially Man of War. Man of War sounds too recent - at least Thom's vocals. Probably wrong but alot of people don't buy it being completely from '96/'97. Lift sounds unfinished in a way - lacking more guitars and doesn't soar like the live version.

Great interview with Nigel. Confirms that there will be songs of demos on the cassette that didn't make Ok Computer. Hello Nude, True Love Waits, Motion Picture Soundtrack, Follow Me Around? I sure hope so. He also said they have TONS of material for a future Kid A reissue.

Yeah I read that earlier in a review. Looks amazing. Was hoping for true love waits or follow me around as well. I guess follow me around was really written on the road during the ok Computer tour and later attempted during both Kid and Hail To The Thief.

First impressions of Big Boots Man of War and Lift:
I'm really liking the atmospherics of Man of War. It seems that they went for something more foreboding, restrained, and ultimately cinematic than the explosive live performances from 1996. And the song is all the better for it. Radiohead have a real talent for performing a song in a staid manner to ensure that it doesn't become pompous. With a song like Man of War, it would be too easy to drive off the cliff by inserting Slash-like guitar wankery all over the chorus. I still prefer Spectre's theatrics and haunting strings to Man of War, but there's little question that this song needs its own Bond film.
You can tell that if they had released this recording of Lift back in '97, it would have been a massive hit. Who cares if it is slower and more calculated than the legendary Pinkpop performance, it's still every bit as catchy and radio friendly, even if they made it more melancholic instead of uplifting. Lift would sound right at home on The Bends, in fact. And you can tell that this was the reason it was excluded from OK Computer. There simply isn't a place for a such an introspective and backwards-facing song on a dark, cynical, paranoid, and groundbreaking album. And no doubt that when Radiohead made the deliberate choice to create a more "sophisticated" album with OK Computer, all songs with hit potential had to go into the can, much like the Beastie Boys had done almost a decade earlier with The Jerry Lewis and Paul's Boutique. But listening to Lift (and the other two OK Computer outtakes) forces the listener to imagine an alternate universe in which the follow-up to The Bends was centered around these songs instead of Airbag, Paranoid Android, and Climbing Up the Walls. Would they still be as respected or important today? Almost certainly not. These three songs, while great to listen to, are weaker than anything that made the cut for OK Computer because they are less ambitious. They don't cover the same territory nor push the same (or even different) boundaries that Let Down and No Surprises do, either musically or lyrically, and they don't make any attempt to. They're simply too normal. If anything, these songs serve to remind us of the benefit of sacrificing commercial success for artistic integrity. It's great we can hear them now, but they were rightfully left in the vault.

So cool that we're finally able to hear these songs.
Though I'm underwhelmed by Lift. The Pinkpop version is way superior.
Man of War is great but it's easy to see why it was left off. It's nowhere near as amazing as anything that went on OK Computer

Saw them live recently in Dublin (got a free ticket from a mate who couldn't make it), great as usual, some of the crowd just wanted to hear Creep and couldn't be arsed with their stuff after OK Computer, you could see the same thing at Glastonbury. The last Radiohead album I enjoyed was In Rainbows, after that it's been difficult to get into their stuff. But Man of War is a excellent tune. They've left such a legacy already that anything that's not awesome leaves you disappointed imo.

The King of Limbs which was ok, had its moments and the excellent A Moon Shaped Pool. Are people still banging on about Creep from 1992? I would have thought Radiohead would have pruned their fan base down over the last 25 years.

No I heard a few quite a few voices shout for Creep, and the biggest cheers of the night went for anything from The Bends or OK Computer, but you always get that when you have non die hard fans. The album I've been going back to lately has been Kid A, fantastic album. Still blows my mind they followed up OK Computer with Kid A

That whole build up around 1999 leading into Kid A was amazing. Ed's online diary, rumors of weird songs being played at warm up gigs and then Kid A comes out, its nothing like their masterpiece Ok Computer, immediately alienates fans worldwide and of course Kid A is brilliant as well.
