Is there a misstep on OKC? Yes there is, and my skip button works well with this song everytime. If you're skipping fitter happier you're missing the whole point of the album.  |

Some have said that The Tourist is OKC's only misstep, too slow and anticlimactic for an album that revolves around constant action and commotion, but I strongly disagree. The fact that it is the only tranquil moment of the album makes it the perfect closer. It's almost as if it's trying to warn us not to go through life so quickly. And yes, it's fucking intense.  Have they? I've heard nothing but praise for the track - it's only ever been referred to as a perfect closer in my experience. It's one of the albums highlights - y'know, along with the other eleven - for me. I only truly appreciated it as being a masterpiece when I payed attention to the vocals. So, so beautiful. Perhaps the best Thom has ever done. If there is a misstep on Ok Computer (and there isn't), then it would be Electioneering. Btw, I only just found out today that in the chorus of that tune, when Thom sings "When I go forwards, you go backwards", Jonny plays the same riff forwards and then backwards. Still discovering amazing details. For me the album is a masterpiece and perfect throughout, and I include Electioneering in that statement. Radiohead needed to rock out on one song at least!  But I do perfer Palo Alto, its rockier than the rest of the album but sounds like a better follow up track to fitter happier with the feedback and radio frequency effects. |

Was reading earlier pages of the thread and I don't get HTTT's hate! Every tune is excellent, it seems just as a album collectively it doesn't flow well.

Was reading earlier pages of the thread and I don't get HTTT's hate! Every tune is excellent, it seems just as a album collectively it doesn't flow well. I rank the albums as of now: OK Computer In Rainbows Kid A Hail to the Thief The Bends Amnesiac The King of Limbs Pablo Honey I'm sure it doesn't get hate, as you say it seems more of a collection of songs rather than a cohesive flowing album. HTTT is incredible, as is everything else they've done. |

Saying "Worst Radiohead Album" (at least since The Bends) is like saying "Worst free mansion".
Hail to the Thief is the "worst" thing they've done in 20 years, and it's fucking brilliant. I don't hate it, I just don't love it quite as much as the rest.
Today, I realised the LA Version of I Will is not what I though it was - I though it was this, much superior, version:
Does anyone know what this version is called?

That's The rough mix of I Will, the version that was leaked before the album's release. It was also officially released by accident on the EMI two-disc reissue of HTTT as "I Will (Los Angeles Version)". Besides the extended outro and intro, the vocals have a bit more reverb. P.S. I've never liked the Los Angeles Version, a full-band arrangement does not suit the song at all imo. |
