Is this thread supposed to be a discount version of r/radiohead? Actually, Mortigi Tempo is the discount version of r/Radiohead.

Nothing like we've ever heard? I can't imagine what this will sound like, I'm pretty hyped. As for the June release date, I wont believe it until an actual official announcement.

I'm hoping for a bit rockier form of In Rainbows, along with some sheer electronic daze. Then again, like Jack said we have no clue what it'll really be.

I'm also hoping for something more accessible like 'In Rainbows'. I'm not a big fan of Thom's solo electronic 'blip-bloop' type sound, but don't mind if its kept to a minimum. If 'Spectre' and 'Silent Spring' are indicators of the new albums quality, then I'm totally fine with that.

If we've got tunes along the line of Spectre, Identikit, cut a hole and Lift then I am 100% prepared to jizz in my pants

I'll bet that the album won't sound a whole lot like Spectre, which was very similar to previous songs they've released (Pyramid Song, Sail to the Moon). The greatest thing about Radiohead is that they always surprise you. TKOL was a major shift away from In Rainbows, though it retained the "warm" sound of its predecessor. And we all know the story of Kid A. The only time that Radiohead didn't change their style dramatically was Hail to the Thief, which was pretty much a stripped-down Kid A/Amnesiac.

In Rainbows Pt. 2 would be awesome, but Radiohead doesn't do things like that (excluding Amnesiac)

I know its a subjective question, but does anyone think this could be their best album (for some), rivalling ok computer and in rainbows? Its hard to think of many bands that have consistent quality to each release.

Its hard to think of many bands that have consistent quality to each release. Radiohead certainly have the ability to do that, but until we have the album in full, it's up to ourselves individually to make that statement. Some even put Kid A and In Rainbows above OKC.

The Kings of limbs is a more Consistent Album... Like Kid A, It took me a while to get into it but I now listen to it more than any other album.
Hail to the Thief is the SOTSOG of Radiohead for me. Could have been a classic but wasn't. Some absolute colossal and stunning tunes on there but it just has too much Random wierdness on there just for the sake of it being a Radiohead record.
THOM YORKE I know, Lets add We suck young Blood, The Gloaming, and Backdrifts to a brilliant experimental rock album just cos were so fucking odd!!
NOEL GALLGHER I know, Lets Add PYMWYMI and I can see a Liar to our Ground-breaking Prog/Psychedelia/Meleancholic record because We iZ A Rok N Woll BanD FrOm de MaNChEsTeRrr CittEEE
Got myself pissed off now

mystoryisgory, Kid A > Ok Computer The King of Limbs >>>> Hail to the Thief My personal ranking: 1. Kid A 2. Ok Computer 3. The King of Limbs 4. Amnesiac 5. In Rainbows 6. The Bends 7. Hail to the Thief 8. Pablo Honey But I think the definitive ranking is: 1. Kid A 2. Ok Computer 3. In Rainbows 4. The Bends 5. Amnesiac 6. The King of Limbs 7. Hail to the Thief 8. Pablo Honey

Great to see TKOL get some love! I've seen way too many Radiohead fans slate that one. Here's my ranking: Kid A OK Computer The Bends Amnesiac In Rainbows TKOL Hail to the Thief Pablo Honey However, this tends to switch around depending on my mood, especially TKOL and HTTT, and Amnesiac and IR, which trade places quite a lot! P.S. The Gloaming is brilliant and there's a reason why it was almost the title track of the album it appears on!

Impossible for me to choose a favourite album from Radiohead. Personally, I've never got the 'Kid A is greatest' thing. Don't get me wrong, I love it, but I'd choose any other album of theirs over it to listen to.

Too much Hail to the Thief hate here. In Rainbows OK Computer Kid A Hail to the Thief The Bends The King of Limbs Amnesiac Pablo Honey KOL is dull for me, but I love Hail To The Thief. Only criticism would be that it's a bit messy, but it's Radioheads White Album.

Only criticism would be that it's a bit messy, but it's Radioheads White Album. Do you have a Hail to the Thief revised tracklisting? I know I do 1. 2+2=5 2. Where I End & You Begin 3. Sail to the Moon 4. Backdrifts 5. Go to Sleep 6. There There 7. I Will [L.A. Version] 8. A Punchup at a Wedding 9. Myxomatosis 10. Scatterbrain 11. Gagging Order 12. A Wolf at the Door Crazy to think an album with ten of the songs on that tracklist can be considered a bands worst album in 20 years. To be honest though, this playlist still doesn't compare with The King of Limbs for me. IMO, Hail to the Thief is the only Radiohead album since The Bends which doesn't have it's own very specific "vibe" or feeling for me. Feels like a patchwork of good/great songs from different places, rather than one cohesive piece of art. That's why it's a notch below everything else they've done in that time which are all, for me, masterpieces in their own way.

There There and Myxomatosis in particular are up there with Radiohead's best songs.
