Hmn. Nothing new on ASCAP as far as I can see. Having looked through Thom's stuff the latest tracks registered were Villain and Spectre which we already know about. Doesn't mean they aren't going to revisit old material that has already been registered though. Yeah, and I remember the TKOL songs were even registered a short time after the actual album "release", so this doesn't rule out the new album dropping any day now. And if anyone thinks our own "Be Here Now reissue" thread is quite mental and goes in circles, than please check out the madness that is the "9th album" thread over at Ateaseweb.

Just give me The Present Tense and Porous/Open The Floodgates and I'll be fine. There's rumours that even Lift might be in consideration again. I honestly can't think of any other band that has a back catalogue of unreleased songs like this, let alone a band that would actually be able to write songs as good as the aforementioned. And they might have even managed to compose one or two new songs after all... If "Lift" does make an appearance on this album release go around I'd imagine it would sound like the 2002 live version as opposed to the 1995 one.

Atoms For Peace soundcheck from 2003 (EDIT: from 2013, of course): It's barely recognisable but it is indeed Lift. The song is apparently still alive. Although I prefer the faster paced 1995/96 version (an OK Computer outtakes compilation including the likes of Lift, True Love Waits, Big Boots, Nude etc. would be tremendous!), the 2002 version sounded fantastic as well. I agree, if it does appear it will probably have a slower and more "avantgarde" arrangement. However, I totally have faith in the genius of Jonny G. to make it work.

I hope Lift doesn't make it to the album, that Radiohead is dead and should stay dead. I thought the same about Nude but it did turn out pretty acceptable, didn't it? But I agree somehow, the song is 20 years old, that's incredible. I'd also gladly take the version they had recorded for OK Computer, but sadly the fate of that very version is now up to E.M.I.

Count me as another who thinks that Lift shouldn't be on LP9. The best version of that song was conceived in '96, and should've made it onto OK Computer (perhaps in place of Electioneering?). The version they played in 2002, while nice, didn't exactly fit the song imo. But I can understand why it didn't make it onto OK Computer; it's rather conventional and radio-friendly compared to the the rest of the tracks on that album. That being said, it wouldn't really come as a shock if it was included on LP9. While Nude is the best example, Radiohead has a long history of using old songs on their albums. Apparently The National Anthem and Motion Picture Soundtrack date back to the On a Friday days, Last Flowers is as old as Nude and was even released at the same time, Up on the Ladder and 4 Minute Warning were recorded with the rest of the songs on Kid A and Amnesiac, and most recently, Morning Mr Magpie was resurrected for TKOL, though it was considered for Hail to the Thief. Even Feeling Pulled Apart by Horses, the early version of Reckoner, was transformed into an electronic beast released under Thom's name. So it really shouldn't come as a surprise to us Radiohead fans when Noel digs up ancient songs like Lock All the Doors and Revolution Song.

It's been mentioned by the band recently and I feel like now is the time.

How about 'Lift' just as a bonus track? I'd love a studio version.

I've got a very positive feeling that tomorrow or Tuesday is the day Radiohead announce their new album or just flat out release it.

I will bet you that Silent Spring, Desert Island Disk, The Present Tense, Identikit, and MAYBE Full Stop, Cut a Hole, and Skirting on the Surface will all be released eventually. Even if it takes 20 years.

Brought to you from a completely black room at midnight, good quality headphones, and a maxed-out-volume, this is your daily reminder that The King of Limbs is fucking brilliant.

Oooh they're coming to Amsterdam! And it's pretty expensive. I kind of don't want to pay 75 euro's. Hmm.

Strong debate over whether this a 2006-style warm-up tour to road test the album, or the start of the real deal.

They played some pretty big festivals in the 2006 tour too. It would make sense for them to release the album in May but it's Radiohead so I've got no doubt it'll come out in July 2017 now.
