Noel's acoustic version of Help needs to be included on this re-issue. It deserves an official release, plus they need tracks like this to fill up the discs.

Lennon wanted to make Help slow song I recorded the Budokan live by Wowow at the time. in 1998 Oasis played only at the Budokan in Japan, so I couldn't see their live. (They stayed same hotel that the Beatles stayed in 1966, and played at the Budokan for three days in the same way as the Beatles's three days. that's all their request.) I had watched Noel's Don't Go Away and Help again and again. That part was so amazing to me, and I had imitated his playing acoustic guitar style (yeah, Don't Go Away ending was fucking fantastic)

I still have no idea how Noel is going to flush out a disc 2. Oasis only had 9 "true" b-sides during this period of the band. That would be a very lame second CD. Granted they could include the single version of DYKWIM?, Fade Away (War Child) and Cigarettes & Alcohol (G-Mex) but those would also be stretches for inclusion outside DYKWIM.
Obviously the third CD could be a treasure trove of material, mystique demos, studio demos, boardwalk demo of AATW, live tour cuts, etc. I personally demand the acoustic version of Setting Sun, Fade In-Out and Help from the Asian/Mexico tour dates. Those were fantastic version and need to be showcased to a larger audience.
I am very curious to see how this all shakes out. I think many of us consider this reissue potentially the best of the bunch since so little unreleased/live versions were exploited.
Can't wait.

Yeah having only released three singles really does limit disc 2. Even if you count Don't Go Away, none of the stuff on there is new or BHN material (I was surprised Fade Away didn't make the MG set though so maybe they'll stick that on there)
Anyone expecting an anthology or anything next year on the back of all this?

I think we'll get a boxset of all b-sides / rarities years before we get an anthology type release. Something to wrap everything up like the beatles past masters set.

Bands typically release anthology style albums way down the line after a band splits. Think 15-20 years.

Wasn't Helter Skelter written as a B side during the BHN period, but didn't get released due to the lack of a 4th UK single (I remember reading Noel couldn't be arsed to write any more original material for more B sides at this point), so the song was shelved and released as a B side for SOTSOG...?
If so, could this be included on the disc.....?

Perhaps the demo?

Yes it was recorded during this era so I guess Noel could include it on the Be Here Now reissue.

I really enjoyed the performances from the Right Here Right Now TV documentary that promoted BHN. I remember IGB(M!!) sounding closer to how I wished BHN had sounded, and of course SBM poolside is brilliant. Maybe some of these could be there in better quality than the VHS tips we have.

Wasn't Noel's cover of "To Be Someone" recorded during the BHN tour at some point?

I thought it was a bit later, closer to SOTSOG. But then again I'm probably wrong.

It was released in late 1999, but was recorded in 1997/98.
From The Guardian interview with Weller and Noel, October 1999:

I've always thought of the Warchhild Fade Away as being from the BHN era and I consider it a b-side of the era, like how I associate Lord Don't Slow Me Down with DBTT I've always MUCH preferred the Warchild version of Fade Away over any rock versions. I've always thought the rock versions (live and/or studio) were too fast, imo. It sounded like they were driving a car off a cliff or something. I'm sure I'd have no problem with the rock version of FA if it was "properly" recorded. It kills me that it, IGTBF, and Listen Up are only available, in studio form at least, as those purposefully rough sounding recordings.

I don't disagree with you, its just annoying to think about the fact that its my only option for listening to the tracks That reckless abandon of yesteryear...what a lovely thing.

Anyway you slice it, Noel is gonna have to get "creative" to fill up that second CD. That means songs like DYKWIM (single edit), Fade Away (War Child), Helter Skelter and To Be Someone might come into play.

I know that's not overkill, but I wouldn't mind that as the "b-sides" disc

Get Liam's carnation on there Liam's cover of Carnation was great. I'm not a fan of Noel's "To Be Someone". I found it a bit lame. Probably that's because I was a fan of The Jam far before I got into Oasis.
