Anybody else got their Debut?
It's the first new Debut album I've brought in years and it's very good,
The strongest songs on the album are undoubtedly the singles which is slightly disappointing as I'd already heard them but it great to hear a rock band with some balls back in the UK Charts,

They're pretty good, I love their album, it's nice to see a good rock n roll band going to number one instead of the stupid shit that dominates the charts nowadays

Great album, not a bad song on it, even if every song is pretty much the same! They're great live as well, sound just as powerful as they do on record.

But you feel they will get better with future releases, they like QOTSA, Black Keys and Led Zeppelin fucked and spawned these lads. I worry if this album will get overrated cause it's not without it's faults but they have potential at been one of the best bands in the world.

I heard a few songs, I like them. Singer sounds like he's trying to be Jack White too hard, though

I completely agree with this all, especially the bit in bold, They've got a great debut but I hope the 'saviour of British rock' tag doesn't go to their heads. The album is very good no doubt about it but it's not a classic (a la DM or Is This It for example). I think they're capable of so much more, they sound incredible and have all the ingredients to become bigger and better. I think with there being only two of them and how they've gone about their business so far they won't rest on their laurels and I fully expect a 2nd album in 2015 at some point. I want it bigger, 7 minute rock-out tunes, guitar solo's, the lot!!

To be fair, I collect most music magazines and I haven't heard any saviour of rock stuff about them ( maybe you read it in NME) but they are highly rated. It's my favourite debut since Arctic Monkeys first album, although it's a little patchier then the Monkeys album I'm still excited by the Royal Blood. They are a amazing live act, and U.K Music scene need a heavy rock group right now, a la QOTSA type act. These guys tick that box. I like them to mix it up a little for the 2nd cause it's a little too samey in places and some songs aint as song as their singles. But they will be around for a few years methinks.

Maybe saviour of British Rock was a bit strong but as you say they're very hyped at minute; they're on course for a 2nd week at number one in the album charts (when was the last time that ever happened for a 'heavy' rock album?!) It's not quite the Arctic Monkey's debut but it's so great to hear something different and good for the first time in so long in the mainstream. I know it's crazy early days but it'll be interesting if this has some sort of legacy. I don't mean on any great level but I remember Definitely Maybe seemingly coming from nowhere which didn't seem to fit with what else was in the chart, within 18 months, Indie/Britpop/Whatever was like shit in a field (everywhere! and a lot was shit). The same in 2001 when The Strokes appeared during the 'choreograph era', again within 18 months bands were everywhere. It only takes one big album for the record execs to realise their is an audience to make money from and suddenly, they're everywhere

Eh there's definitely a void in mainstream rock and Royal Blood fit that niche nicely. They hit as hard as QOTSA, they are raw like White Stripes, and there's a bit of Muse thrown in there. The album was mildly enjoyable but it gets a little monotonous after a while. It is nice to see band that can rock out and have some decent hooks, but they aren't close to those pervious three that I just mentioned. Give them some time and maybe they will be up there but for a two piece I don't know how far they can stretch their sound. They'll have to improve their songwriting on the next one or else its just gonna be a rehash of this debut.
Promising but I think rock n' roll fans are just really really thirsty for something like this because its been so long since they've head banged.

Royal Blood will get better but the debut isn't quiet in the "Classic" Debut of a Stone Roses or Oasis, just a level below still it's very good and they are exciting cause they stick out from the Coldplay Copyists or the bands that are too smart for their own good ( 80's sounding middle class crap) that people can't quite get behind. Nothing quite sounds like Royal Blood in the British Music scene right now, which makes them special. I don't know if it will have that quite a impact like Oasis ( None of Royal Blood singles have the same impact as Oasis's singles from that time period) or The Strokes debut ( Is This It didn't sell that many records, it was more the sound and image that had the impact). But it's great to have a band like Royal Blood around right now, it's only them, Arctic Monkeys and Kasabian that really stick out in the U.K music scene. I can see them making a big impact in the U.S.A.

I see where you are coming from with the monotonous after a while, that's why I can't call the album a Classic cause it does get a little samey. It's very good but Rock Fans will eat it up cause what other U.K acts are like them at the moment. They have potential to be great, I think they are a very powerful live act but can they step it up for a change when it comes to 2nd album. They can get away with it the same sound if the tunes are even better, but by 3rd album they will need to change it up. I rather have these guys around instead of the 80's copyists band with their horrible depressive lyrics.

I really like their debut. Not a fan of Careless, though.
They seem to have a good management behind. They're frequently on radios, tv shows etc. Also they supported the Monkeys at Finsbury Park and they're supporting Foo Fighters at Wembley. Not bad.
Seeing them live next march at Alcatraz in Milan. €17/£13 for 1 ticket.

For their second album they need some breathers(some kind of ballad or slow songs, but not for the sake of it), or things can become(some might say they are after the first one) repetitive and tedious.

I'm not really a fan of his voice and the classic rock riffs but his bass setup is pretty amazing. Can't believe he gets those guitar sounds from it.

Yes, I agree. It's a little bit repetitive. Maybe this is their limit. They don't have a guitarist, they're not a "normal" band, and the only way they can play is like in this album.
They certainly need to improve, but only with a bass and drums it's not easy. How can they record and play a ballad? I agree with manualex, they need their own DLBIA. But how?

Not a fan to be honest. Borrowed the album to check it out after hearing all the hype. Expected much better. Just didn't enjoy it, every track seemed the same to me.

Not sure about slow 'ballads' as such because as people have touched upon their not conventional in their set up so it might not work but I actually think they could go bigger and even louder!
All the songs were 3-4 mins of constant power. They could maybe slow it slightly but build songs up to crescendo so they don't sound as in a rush and maybe throw in some heavy jams?
All I know is that their second needs to be different, we don't want another 'Room On Fire' incident

They released a b-side for every single, and now they're on YouTube. I think they're all bloody great and could've been included on the album. B-sides playlist (YouTube)
