Yeah, bloody great that. Not a hard song to sing of course but it shows his voice still had something about even then. Nice to hear some of the guitar and bass bits there that of course we've never had the chance to hear before (Sardy)
Liked Noel's little "on and on" continuation at the end there as well. I always felt he added a few nice touches to Liam's songs here and there if you listen carefully, it'll be a shame if the opportunity to do so never arises again. Liam's stuff flourishes more when Noely G's there, without a doubt.

Really. Fucking. Psyched out. Awesome song and the acapella actually doesn't sound artificial, like a lot of other Liam DOYS songs.

Spot on both of you.. I dunno what it is about this song but I just love it lol It's eerie, in a sense, when you think of what was to follow with the way Oasis went, during the tour, that followed the album, them breaking up and all. "Hold the line. Sing a song. Soldier on." Not precisely the lyrics, but they're in the song, and it's weird because to "soldier on", means to do something, if even if you don't really want to. Liam wrote the song, and he, of course, is the lead singer. Lack of a better term, but that really is something, those lines are. It's cool, but wow.

Yeah, i do think that this song has undertones of the break up in it. Noel has said previously that he, Paul and Liam were out with their respective women for a pre-tour meal and Liam announced that he wanted to leave the band, after their tour. Nobody mentions that but this song suggests that it might have been true

The song was demoed in 2004 and rediscovered on a pro tools hard drive by The Coral when they were recording at Wheeler End. It was picked for the alleged "vibe" of the album.
Personally, it's not got anything to do with the band breaking up 5 years later.

The ending would be so much better with that "on and on" from noel more prominent and a brass section like death of you and me sort of vibe.
Fuck dave Sardy, get me involved next time Noely G

I'm so disappointed right now. No one's fault but mine, was glancing through the forum list and for a second I thought this thread was called "Soldier On Acapella by Bonehead".

Just to point out that the correct spelling in Italian is "a cappella" :-)
