The instagram auto-embed code hasn't been working properly here for awhile. Twitter still works though.

The good news he still can sing with the best of them. The not so great news. Its still just kinda boring bland singer-songwriter pop/rock balladry. The vocal loop is something he has dabbled with, with varying success, but its just not stunning. Forth has those moments of greatness, and this is coming from someone who thinks Check the Meaning cold be argued as his finest song ever. Thought he'd give us something to hype us up for the album, this is just kinda MOR Richard. Kinda just wish he'd go full force into something funky/soulful. He has always been a great ballad writer, so props there. Just think he can do a bit better even as a mid 40's something. My thoughts exactly. This song would be just what I'd imagine it to be before hearing it. Not to live in the past but when i hear Richard's voice like this, I miss Nick McCabe's guitar. It brought something not so much edgy in the conventional sense but unpredictable and novel. Even Richard with just an acoustic guitar is perfect. This feels overproduced with little substance. This is just after 1 listen. We'll see if anything changes.

Liked it. I don't think I could dislike a song from him. Looking forward... Thanks Richard!

Liam covered up his 'Patsy' (Kensit) tattoo with the 'Taking Care of Business' logo Elvis used to use.

I like it but its not amazing, thats all really, I listened to it about 5-10 times and I dont really feel any different about it, its not really anything new, its another RA ballad but its ok. Same. I've listened about 5 times today/yesterday and just not getting it. Maybe I'll like the album though who knows. Liked his other solo albums.. Keys to The World being my favourite.

I think it fits nicely on a greatest hits compilation (when I say greatest hits I mean my favourite RA tunes to play in the car)
Check The Meaning Science of Silence C'mon People We're Making It Now This Is How It Feels Money To Burn Music Is Power Man On A Mission Bright Lights Break The Night With Colour Buy It In Bottles Song For The Lovers You On My Mind In My Sleep
Not a big fan of Keys To The World, probably my least favourite Ashcroft solo record (apart from that United Nations of Sound nonsense). I really liked Human Conditions.
I know what people mean, it would be good to get something a bit more uptempo but I still love the single and his voice is still immense. Good to have him back, just hope the album is decent.

I wish Liam and Richard would just collaborate already. Just a one-off EP or something. As for the new song, I'm trying to like it through repetitive listens, but it's not worth the 5 year wait for. I imagine the album will be mediocre at best, based of the new song, which is a shame.

Mad Richard is back!! Yesterday was best day in months for me!! Nice tune great interview on Radio X. 2 shows in UK added today!! Looking forward for the album and maybe a show in NL. Another question: i was reading about Richard homecoming gig at the Lancashire Country Cricket Club in 2006. Does anyone has the outtakes? I'm not very active here but i'd love all your passion for oasis and good music. Cheers and thanks.

Honestly, except for the voice this sounds like any average radio track of the 2000s. Not terrible, but nowhere near great for me.

Not a big fan of Keys To The World, probably my least favourite Ashcroft solo record I felt like that for a while, even when it first came out. But it's got some great tracks on it like Why Not Nothing, Music is Power, Keys to the World, and other songs like Break the Night With Colour, Sweet Brother Malcolm, Simple Song are also pretty good. The songs are less 'overproduced' or string-saturated, which lets them breathe more and makes a change from the first 2 albums. Where it flops is in tracks like Words Just Get in the Way, Cry to the Morning, and Why Do Lovers...they could have been better with a lighter, stripped back approach but they feel so cliched and heavily worn even on first listen. Still a good album, I think. Higher highs but lower lows. 6.5 or 6.8 maybe.

I think this album will be quite underground or low key but will be critically acclaimed. Just wondering if the latest single is as upbeat as the album gets...

Decent enough, I guess. It would be a hundred times better if it didn't have those cringey "yeah, uh-huh"s looped throughout. This is my first real exposure to solo Richard, are the rest of his albums this generic? Hopefully not....
