I read on a Verve fan forum that apparently McCabe is willing to get The Verve back together and that it all depends on Richard now. I don't really now what happened between them and if there is a possible future for the Verve, but I would definitely love it. Still, the most important thing is that Richard and his family are alright. Still, it worries me that we haven't heard anything from him for such a long time (apart from the Dubai performance, my bet is that that was just something to make a bit of money, I don't blame him) . Encouraging news, cheers for the info loel! You're very welcome! I'm gonna tell you if I come across any further news.

Not sure what happened between Richard and Nick this time or last time or the countless times before that but they make such a great team. I love the Verve. They are, next to Oasis, the longest musical relationship I've enjoyed.
Staying together seems to be a pressure cooker for them. Maybe coming together to record some songs and play some gigs on a once-in-a-while basis, so there's no need to think of a follow up all the time, might make it more appealing. Whatever works, I would love a new Verve album. Apart from I See Houses, I think Forth was pretty great, a real amalgamation of their styles and sounds. Terrific bsides and bonus tracks too.

The Mover is one of the BEST Verve songs in the last 15 years. Can't believe it wasn't on the album. Crazy.

I think Mover wasn't on the album because it was a old song(from '94 or '95), but that didn't stopped them in 1997 when Come On and Rolling People were released on UH.

What became between Richard and Nick the last time is Ashcroft ego is so inflated it's ready to explode, I thought Liam was bad but Richard is out there. The Verve was always special for me cause of Nick's guitar playing and Richard's Lyrics, that's why I hate his solo career singing about his missus and cleaning the dishes ain't for me.

Noel Gallagher Wants To Make A Record With Richard Ashcroft Wednesday, March 04, 2015
Noel Gallagher has been speaking about Richard Ashcroft in a interview in the current issue of the NME he said "I haven't seen Richard for ages, but whatever he's doing I hope he's making a record. I don't know anyone who's got his phone number. The one he gave me he never answers. He lives in a big stately home and I imagine he's just stoned thinking "What is that f*cking noise?". That 'United Nations Of Sound' record was a f*cking great record. I should make a record with him.
When asked "Would that upset Liam?" Noel replied "Oh, that would be war. The fact you've now put that in my head means I'm definitely going to follow that through. Hopefully he might give himself a black eye".

Not sure United Nations of Sound was "fucking great" but Are You Ready was a good tune.

Noel is a person that say bad things about a lot of different people, but he always has good words to say about Ashcroft.

Wow...a collaboration between Richard Ashcroft and Noel would make me as happy as one between Damon Albarn and Noel. He should do both!

Britpop Revival by Ashcroft/Albarn/Gallagher/Cocker (Feat. J Greenwood, Frischmann, Anderson) Coming soon to a wet dream near you... I never thought Radiohead were a Britpop band to be fair, they were always out there on their own. I'm not Radiohead's biggest fan but they were something special between 95/00. I always thought Albarn wrote all of Elastica's debut album.

I know what you mean but seeing as the idea was a celebration of the best British bands of the 90s not including them would have felt wrong.

Another quote from the Verve-forum:
"I think this is bound to happen now. McCabe has also just said this:
'Pete and Richard parted ways over a year ago. Pete is with the Charlatans for the foreseeable future. Richard had finished an album with Damon Minchella some years back and then it went quiet. I called him a while back. Spoke to Kate for close to two hours. Nothing back from Richard. On my list: I'd like to help him bring home a great acoustic record, stop the foolishness with the Verve and get some ANS shows sorted, see about some interesting collab stuff. I'm fairly delusionally optimistic things are never truly broken'"

"New album soon, also touring with full orchestra x" Since he apparently told someone else last year that his new album will be released in december 2014, I don't know whether I should believe this or not.

I'd kill for a "true" Ashcroft solo album. No more of this United Nations of Sound nonsense. It's been way too fucking long.

I love how NME always finds a way to put Noel in their articles in some way.
