After the first listen: it's not very good.
There are a few nice songs, but most of it is totally forgettable. Maybe it'll grow on me a bit.

read some reviews before i listened to it and its better then what critics are saying about it, 3 or 4 pretty good songs but theres are few that are no good.
hopefully the bonus track is good.

They Don't Own Me is good a few other tracks will be good but only when he plays them acoustically. The overproduction is just abysmal. I just hope he does a stripped back album in the future. |

Yeah, the production is pretty overwhelming. I like "Picture of You" and "Black Lines" the most and after those "They Don't Own Me" and "Everybody Needs Somebody To Hurt". The singles are good too.
I can hear hear Cry 'Til The Morning in "Ain’t The Future So Bright", but think it and "Songs Of Experience" are the worst on it.

It's nothing near to what he's done in past, but I think it's not fair to compare them, especially with The Verve. I don't know what to say about the "Out Of My Body" and "Everybody Needs Somebody To Hurt". "Two boys Sonny and Cassius I love you. This album is dedicated to my beautiful wife Kate. heres my initial thoughts, havnt listened to all the songs enough times yet to review it properly.
this is probably the highlight of the album for me, great sound, nice lyrics, just grabs me.
these people is essentially lucky man 2.0, songs of experience ending guitar solo could be louder and fades out abit too soon for my liking, out of my body sounds better live, think there needs to be more bass.
atm its an alright album imo, most of the songs are ok, its probably more consistent as a whole album than some of his others.
