matt when we were talking LEEDS. not only did they have the squad I thought to challenge united long term ...but I really thought oleary was gonna be the next fergie ....what happened there as well ? Yeah he was a decent manager - didn't win anything despite expensive signings but a lot were over-expensive, so not really his fault. Guys like Rio Ferdinand were brought from West Ham but he was young so hadn't yet reached his peak, then Ferguson bought him. He was a good manager though - I don't think they finished outside the top 6 when he was there, and as soon as he went they were in freefall. He then went to Villa - he had a couple of decent seasons - think he finished somewhere like 6th with them which is something they haven't replicated for a long long long time. He has a year managing a team in the Middle East, but that doesn't really count so he hasn't properly managed since 2006. I don't know whether he's retired as a manager or not. He's not even that old, perhaps he just prefers punditry work which I think he does now. Similar to Alan Curbishley - he left West Ham in 2008 and is nowhere to be seen these days.

Not too disappointed with where my team (Blackburn Rovers) are right now, 4 points off the top six at this point is not really what I was hoping for but there is still a half a season left. Very comfortable win over Charlton yesterday, we had the game wrapped up in 20 minutes and I think we were unlucky not to knock a couple more past them. 2 must win games coming up in the next week though,I don't think I could take another away defeat to bloody Bolton. I still think that we'll definitely be in the top six come the end of the season, I'm just not too sure we have the consistentency to break into the automatic promotion places, as there is a lot of very good sides in this league.

DO MY EYES DECIEVE ME ?? Ipswich town Are making a serious run to the premiere leauge ! they fell off bad since relegated years ago. There was a brief time way back when they had a nice run in EPL. Were in top 8 ,haven't seen them sniffing back up in some time , always like the small clubs with Great fans getting back up .... They were no easy beat for awhile in either the late 90 s or early 2000's memory is foggy from stella back then

Blackpool seem to be in a right mess and I can't see them bouncing back quick either, shame really. But who cares when your gunning for the top. Big game for Derby this Saturday. Ipswich are looking very good at the moment so could go either way really. Fingers crossed!

Any Bolton fans on here tonight? My uncle is a big Bolton fan... Although he's getting close to 70 years old so I doubt he's on an Oasis site

They were looking good for at least the play offs by Christmas, but I didn't think they'd go top - thought Derby or Middlesbrough would cement the top two if I had to predict. Eddie Howe is a great young coach, they were saved by a Russian businessmen a few years back, so he's helped in the rejuvenation of them. It would be great to see them in the Premier League - the more smaller - but really well run - clubs are great for the Premier League. They could be a Swansea like success.

Looks like the steel town rivalry could make a come back.....if Sheffield United qualify for the Championship. Not saying they got a chance, but Clough isn't coaching Nottingham forest here.

kalas has just come on for Middlesbrough. It's an absolutely fascinating league this year. Any one of 4 teams could win the league with a further 4 pushing for the play-offs. What Bournemouth have achieved has been brilliant and I'd love to see them go up. And that's a belting goal for Watford right there.

That final day yesterday epitomised the season as a whole.
It was great to see Bournemouth win it in the end and I'm looking forward to the Old Farm Derby in the payoffs.
Derby have been disastrous since January. Whether that's down to injuries to managerial uncertainty, I don't know but they led the league on thee separate occasions and never dropped out of the top six until yesterday. It's unfortunate but all they had to do was draw with a poor Reading side. A defensive error and missed penalty cost them in the end.
And Blackpool? I understand that they're unhappy with the owners but I imagine they'll be severely punished for the fans coming on in the middle of the game. There's a serious rebuilding job needed there.

And deleted ? duncan175 was Ross' username. He deleted his account about a week ago for some reason. As for the third team promoted? It's very tough to call but I'm going to go for Brentford.
