I've got a whole morning off work today, that's perfect for listening to Johnny's live in session on BBC Radio 6 EDIT: Lauren Lavern has just said he's on after 12 o'clock. Jeez. I think I'm gonna miss it...

Done with the first listen. Not a single bad song on the album. Playland and The Messenger were ok albums with a few great tunes. But this is too much. I loved every song, and the usual that you would expect in a Johnny Marr album is to think: This is great, but it would've been even better with Mozz. Well,in this one I didn't even think about Morrissey. This is by far the best thing he is ever done in his solo career. Maybe the weakest is A Different Gun,but still is a great song, and the lyrics are great. The best ones are The Tracers,Hi Hello,Walk Into The Sea,Bug and Spiral Cities. Trust me,album of the year for me atm.

To me the fillers are Actor Atractor and maybe New Dominions. But I love both. Does anybody now where can I download Jeopardy? Can't find it anywhere and I was hyped for that one

Here goes a little track by track of mine after a couple listens
Rise: Serious killers vibe. Heard it live on YouTube and I must admit that I thought that it was nothing special. But in the record is just fantastic. Love the tremolo effect on the guitar. Great opener that sets the tone for the science fiction like record. 7'5/10
The Tracers: Gets better each listen. Love the fact that in the record, the final bit gets a little extended, because its the best part of the song. Guitars are on point like the entire record. Definitely one of my favourites. 8'5/10
Hey Angel: Now Marr isn't just one guitar god. He is doing great with the melodies. I found out that every song on the record has a bit that makes them special. Sounds a bit like Playland, but with better production and more interesting vocal work. Like Lennon said,it has some Be Here Now vibes. 7/10
Hi Hello: Been listening to it every single day since its release. Can't see the video though, because I can't get my eyes off that beautiful 12 string Gibson. One of the bests in the record. And probably the best single of his entire solo career. 9/10
New Dominions: Saw it on YouTube and I was waiting for the song to explode. Never happened so I didn't really like it at first. In the record sounds better of course, and the melodies are great. Specially that bit where Johnny says: 'I don't know why it's understood...' A bit of a disco trance. But also a bit of an experimentated filler. But a good one anyway. 6'5/8
Day In Day Out: Love when the drums kick in. A typical song of his,but with better production than the other two past records. 7/10
Walk Into The Sea: The darkest of the record and its fucking great. It gets better and better and the vocal melodies in the ending are beautiful. Specially that 'It hardly breaks on me' part while he sings 'Take me downnnn'. Just beautiful. 9/10
Bug: Funky Smiths. Adore this one. The chorus its fantastic and must be a killer tune live. One of the best and probably the next single. 8'5/10
Actor Attractor: A bit of a filler to me. But maybe because of the drum machine. But gives a little bit of variation to the record. 6'5/10
Spiral Cities: I absolutely adore the guitar riffs on the entire song. The chorus is just perfect. Perfect for a midnight drive. Probably my fav on the record. 9/10
My Eternal: Those synths sound a bit like Joy Division. The most 80s vibe song on the record. Another great song. 7/10
A Different Gun: The beggining reminded me strongly to Neon Noon by Kasabian. Probably the weakest song of the record but its a good one to finish it. I would've prefered to end with Walk Into The Sea but well. The lyrics are great to. Specially that 'Everyday is a different song' line. 6/10
Overall: One of the best records of the year to me,and the best of his solo career. I'm gonna be listening to this a tone. Solid 8/10 for me. Cheers!
