Greatest riff There are so many ....... But push comes to shove ..... Jimmy solo on dazed and confused ... Is untouchable , I almost crashed my car a thousabd times jamming to air guitar while driving ..... All those others are great ! But. If it's all time ....for me dazed and confused solo

And may I humbly add ....... A Eddie van Halen solo should be included ...you tube Eddie van Halen solos ....I seen them live ... But he gets overlooked first time I heard ERUPTION ..... I WAS 13 ... I BASICALLY CAME IN MY PANTS ... but his solos pound for pound. Technically .. EDDIE V IS AS. GOOD AS IT GETS

There really is no equal when it comes to strictly riffs

Smells like teen Spirit even though it copped it from Boston's More Then a Feeling
That riff from Jack White's single Lazaretto ( Even with Violin riff) is awesome.
Free Bird, Tuesday Gone and Sweet Home Alabama from Lynyrd Skynyrd are obvious but they are mean riffs.

Too many to choose from, of course! But this is a favourite... This is my favourite too! I always have to think of Jimmy from "Quadrophenia" everytime I listen to this song.

Obvious, not my favourite but probably the most influental and the most important for history of rock music.

Another favourite. May contain traces of Rock yodelling. There's some frenetic, verging on unhinged, live versions of this out there where they play it ridiculously fast Edit: added one below. Mad. Surprised the drummer didn't spontaneously combust, Spinal Tap style...

I must say, I only chose one of each artist but if I was free to choose anything, it would be chock a block full of Johnny Marr. Greatest guitar player ever.

matt, what do you think of this? Johnny's very favourite - "Gimme Danger" by Iggy & The Stooges from their legendary "Raw Power".
