Don Alfredo Di Stéfano has passed away today. When he was signed, Real Madrid had won just two leagues. When he left the team, he had already built the foundations of the best team of the century.
He won leagues and trophies at both sides of the sea. Won 5 Cups of Europe, scoring on all the finals.
Received 2 Ballons D'Or, and could have won a third one but wasn't allowed to be voted. Years later, France Football gave him the Super Ballon D'Or.
He was the captain of the "Rest of the world team" to commemorate the 100th aniversary of FA. English media loved him, Spanish media talk of him as the best team football player ever.
He was THAT good. He was a true legend.

if someone wants to translate some of these...
- "Jugamos como nunca y perdimos como siempre". (We played as we never had, and lost as we always do)
(The ball is made of leather, the leather comes from the cow, the cow eats grass, so we have to put the ball on the grass)
- "Un 0-0 es como un domingo sin sol". (0-0 is like a Sunday with no sun)
(No player is as good as all them together)
- "Las finales no se juegan, se ganan". (Finals aren't played, they are won)
(Puskas handled the ball with the left leg better than myself with the hand)
(I don't ask you to stop the balls that go in, but at least don't throw in the ones that go outside, to Valencia GK, who he trained)
(I retired at 40 because my daughters one day looked at me and said: 'Dad, bold and with shorts, you don't look good')
(Scoring is like making love, everyone knows how to do it, but no one does it like me)
- "Se juega mejor con once, y si es con doce, mejor" (You play better with 11, and if it's with 12, better)
