I was wondering if there are any bands like obviously influenced by Oasis that i've never heard. And i don't mean that last fm kind of thing bullshit. Similar artists- Coldplay, Stone Roses, Audioslave, The Strokes, Nickelback, The Beatles. I don't mean Real People neither. I mean bands like Black Rebel Motorcycle Club for example maybe Stereophonics, The Verve, Kasabian. Not even popular or anything. Just kind of, with the similar vibe. And good. In other words. I'm gettin' bored of the music that i know, can't find nothing new that will excite me. Can you recommend me something cool ?  |

The Brian Jonestown Massacre - a lot like BRMC. They have a great attitude and remind me of Oasis if they did more LSD and Shrooms in India or something. Anenome is one of the best songs ever.
Smith Westerns - Dye It Blonde and Soft Will are albums that are filled with Noel-esque melodies and T-rex leads. Varsity has a chorus that just screams Oasis to me. A great young indie band.

Not very similar to Oasis, but The Rifles are really good. You gotta see them live. Great band.
The Shore from LA, again not very similar to Oass, but their first album sounded similar to "Urban Hymns".
Fantastic album was that.

the Hiss (first?) album has def maybe written all over it. liked it few first times I listened, but enjoy while it lasts

Even Robbie williams has a few Oasis sounding songs! Old Before I Die is one that springs to mind. To me the vocal style, guitar sound, and dense 'wall of sound' production on that tune are definitely influenced by Oasis, circa 95. |
