I'm Noel in an Oasis tribute band that is getting off the ground. We're all fairly experienced musicians, our singer does a cracking Liam and the music side is really coming together. We're soon going to be getting photos and recordings to start getting gigs.
Our singer does a have a bit of Liam about him and will be in Parka etc with the stance and attitude and all that. My dilemma is what to do as Noel as I look nothing like him and fairly normal looking people are actually much harder to capture their look than more unique/flamboyant characters.
The music is obviously the most important thing but beyond that you want to capture the look of the band too where possible. Looking at other Oasis tributes the Noel generally looks nothing like him... Bald guys, fat guys and so on. I actually have a wig that has been cut to look like Noel and shades I could wear, so I could do a reasonably close Noel look a like, but there's a danger it looks like I'm on my way to a fancy dress party and have stopped by to play some songs along the way!!
So any thoughts or input welcomed in the poll. If you went to see an Oasis tribute with Noel dressed in wig and shades would you think it was better or a bit naff?

Personally I think the sounds is more important than the look. Particularly for someone like Noel. As long as the band sound good I think you've honoured what Noel is all about. I think it's about comfort. If you feel like a tool wearing a wig then don't. If you feel weird about play the role without some sort of visual indicator then wear it. Could you try it both ways and see of you felt a difference in the reception. But realistically Liam is visually the guy that people would recognize the band for. They'll figure out who you are simply because you are to his left wig or not.  |

So saw a great tribute BEATLE band in Vegas , they were fat fucks in there 50 s ....they were best band next to my mates , note for note , and sounded the same ...... Tje look is hype the music is what matters. Good luck

If you have a chance to really look a bit like Noel, do it, but if you are nothing like him, fuck it, shave your head and look just like cool you, better than poor Gallagher pretender. That's my opinion. Look at Liam nowadays. He noticed that he's not that good in looking like John Lennon anymore so he decided to look like a hooligan from this day forward |
