I'd say Let There Be Love and Importance of Being Idle as the last classic hit single from Noel. It's a weird coincidence that it's a song about being lazy though ,but it looks like he never wrote nothing musically stronger since.
It's really weird and i never thought about Noel's songwriting in that way but i kind of agree with kalas , there's no real blinder on that list. It's confusing what that thread made me realise.
I think High Flying Birds production disaffects me to a lot of these songs. For example i loved the soundcheck version of Everybody's On The Run, i remember thinking it's a really fresh and beautiful song. When i heard the album version i was so dissapointed, it was ruined. I like it now and get used to it but it could have been recorded better those songs.

If I Had A Gun by an infinite mile.
That wouldn't be a bad Oasis album title, actually. Infinite Mile.
The contradictory nature of it is very Noel Gallagher. From now on you may call me Noel.

This poll is also good for showing those under the influence at the time of voting - Come On Outside over If I Had A Gun? Whatever you lot are on, I want triple of. Jesus.

I think If I Had A Gun would win this clearly if it had brilliant production. It's a tragedy what happened with that song - completely ruined, it sounds so shit on record. The real crime is those who voted The Good Rebel.

A Simple Game of a Genius has one of the best intros but whole song is shitty. Sorry Noel. My vote goes to.... It makes me wanna cry or Dying of the light. Such a waste that there's no this song

Not really feeling the love for Alone on the Rope, find it a bit boring.
One more recent Noel song I really like (until we get the recorded version of Dying of the Light) is I'd Pick You Every Time, especially the demo version.
Just a lovely simple song with a great hook and doesn't outstay its welcome - the sort of stuff Noel rattled off for fun back in the day.

Alone on the Rope is the only thing Id consider a bonafide great song. Oh, there's plenty of strong ones listed that I enjoy a lot, but AOTR is the best one.

Importance Of Being Idle.
Was a turning point in Noel's songwriting. Took a different direction for him and Oasis and I rate it as highly as any other song he's written.
Nostalgia blurs the focus of what many see as being great songs for the sake of a great song, and a great song because it's a reminder of the old days.
I love Importance Of Being Idle as much now as I did then and no more. And I love it rather a lot. Easy choice.

Kinda wish I'd let everyone pick three songs instead of one, and hadn't written Alone On A Rope instead of Alone On The Rope but THAT'S LIFE.
