Tried to get into them in my University days several years ago (Christ, I'm getting old). But other than a couple tunes which were a bit of alreet (Lazyitis, Hallelujah, 24 Hour Party People), I couldn't get into them.
Trying to listen to them now, again.
I have their discography, and have had it for several years.
Still struggling. And people say Ian Brown can't sing. Jesus what the hell is this shit?
They are just so spectacularly unsatisfying.
It's a band I really want to like, too. Can someone please help me see the light?

I do like them, but my first reaction to them was also "WTF is this?"
Wrote for Luck is a good one. Its the biggest song off their 2nd album Bummed, which also features Lazyitis. I actually prefer that one to PillsThrills n Bellyaches, which I still like.
A good tune of their first album is Tart Tart.

Part of the problem is that they sound really dated. I haven't ever really checked them out but some of their singles are solid though. I'll give them a listen eventually but don't know if they'll have the same effect with me as they would have in the 80's and early 90's.

I like Happy Mondays, they were a chaotic band, the most hedonistic band of all time I guess, and a band that in theory shouldn't work, but surprisingly it does.
They released two great albums with Bummed and Pills, Pills in particular is fantastic with lots of great instrumentation, things like Loose Fit and Brain Dead will never get old.
