I'm getting stuck back into them tonight.

Of course, I've had Good News For People Who Love Bad News (2004). After all, who the fuck doesn't own that release?

Also had We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank since it's release in 2007, which has some good tunes. Spitting Venom is phenomenal - the last 4 mins of which are crazily fucking good. Might actually be my most liked Modest Mouse track (but I haven't listened to them in several years, so probably not as I unearth the other songs, but my god it's superb):

I just acquired a copy of The Moon & Antarctica (2000), which seems to be deemed their best album - although Good News is highly regarded, too. Listening to it now - I've heard a few songs from it 10 years ago (with the hype of Good News) like tracks as 3rd Planet - which is a tune and half, mind.

Also just downloaded The Lonesome Crowded West, from 1997 (1997! This band was around in the 90s!? Fucking insane!), as it got equally strong reviews. Worth a listen, surely.

I think those 4 albums are sufficient right now, as the others seem to be good, but not great albums.

Anyone else enjoy some Modest Mouse?

I had never heard of them until my forever guitar hero joined the band and just because of that, I started to listen to them. Of course my favourite album is the one with Johnny.

I've seen them when they played in Amsterdam in 2007 (and met Johnny before the gig).
I quite enjoyed the gig. Don't think I'll ever go to their gig again since Johnyy isn't in the band anymore, but they're a quality band.

I really like most of what I've heard from them...

I could be wrong, but I think there are people that enjoy the old Modest Mouse music and a group that likes the newer, more commercial sound...I could be wrong.
