Surely there must be a few of you...I saw him back in 2008 when he opened up for Oasis and have been into him since. Kind of lost track somewhere in between but am now rediscovering his back catalogue and am really enjoying it once again.
The film This is 40 served to rekindle my Ryan Adams love, as he does two songs in the film Lucky Now and Shining Through the Dark, which I really enjoy.
What do you think? Best/worst albums? Songs?

I'm a huge fan of his, get anything u can from when he was in the band Whiskeytown as well as The Suicide Handbook if u can. There are too many songs to pick from, but The Rescue Blues and Two (get the unplugged version with Neale Casal... Amazing). Albums for me are Hearbreaker, Rock N Roll, Gold and Easy Tiger

Love his music, Gold is one of my favourite albums of all time, followed by Heartbreaker and Love Is Hell.
La Cienega Just Smiled is one of the greatest tunes ever written, and Where The Stars Go Blue is close behind from that album. I love the song Shadowlands and Anybody Wanna Take Me Home, these are my favourites at the moment

Love Is Hell and Gold are both outstanding albums. Sylvia Plath is one of my favourite songs. He's extremely talented. Seen him live a few times aswell and he's very good.

I'm a big, big fan. The sheer quantity and quality of the material he produced during 2000-2005 was simply incredible (Heartbreaker, Gold, Demolition, Love is Hell**, Rock 'n' Roll, Cold Roses, JCN and 29! not to mention the scrapped albums)
I went to see him at Liverpool Philharmonic in 2006 and it was incredible, just him and his guitar and piano. Lots of audience interaction too, the man is a genius
Favourite albums are Love is Hell, Gold, Heartbreaker and Cold Roses Favourite songs are Hotel Chelsea Nights, Avalanche, Harder Now That It's Over, La Cienga Just Smiled (I could go on and on)
On a side point although I love practically all his releases part of me still thinks that if he'd used a bit more quality control he could easily have gone down as one of the all time greats. If you think he released 4 disks of music in 2005! Imagine a hybrid of that years music on one/two disks?
Also his post 2005 music has obviously not been of the same ridiculously high calibre of his earlier solo stuff but imagine condensing Easy Tiger, Cardinology, III/IV and Ashes and Fire into another 2 albums?!*
* I know these albums were a mix of solo and Cardinals but who are we trying to kid, Adams wrote all the songs anyway so it would have been possible
** This isn't a pretentious comment but I always thought Love is Hell worked better as two EP's, that's how I brought it and always know it. A friend of mine brought the later released full LP and it didn't feel right. Probably just because it wasn't used to it. Also you get Fuck The Universe on the two EP's, which is great

I first pass Ryan Adams when he and The Cardinals opened up for Oasis in 2008, but only got into him maybe two years ago. Gold and Love is Hell are incredible records. The guy has talents by the boatload.

Dude had about a 10 year period where he just wrote quality song after quality songs (mid-late 90's to the mid 00's) His work in Whiskeytown is outstanding as well, Phneumonia is one of his best albums. He has a nice diverse catalog that ranges in quality but you have to respect him for just working his ass off. I mean his work in 2005 is kinda mind blowing.
Heartbreaker is such an outstanding album, one of the best of the 00's. That and Cold Roses you really see (hear) him in his element. Gold used to my favorite by him, and it is probably his most accessible/diverse album, but it doesn't really display his true songwriting nature like Heartbreaker/Cold Roses/Jacksonville City Lights. Still Gold is an outstanding album La Cienega Just Smiled, Answering Bell, Goodnight, Hollywood Blvd, are all superb songs.
Love Is Hell is a really underrated album that can strike an emotional chord with just about anyone if you put it on at the right time.
29 is a nice set of beautiful songs, not my favorite but it has Elizabeth, You Were Born to Play That Part, which is one of the most beautiful songs ever written. It is a good reading or raining day album.
Hell, I even like Rock N' Roll for just how dumb and fun it sounds. It is not even close to being a great album but the critics bash it a bit too much. It is a bit generic in its rock riff-age but you have to understand the album in context. it was recorded because his label didn't want to release love is hell so he made Rock n' Roll quickly in order to please his label. It is like the angsty counterpart to the dreary Love Is Hell.
He hasn't been able to really make a great album since 2005, but he is consistent nonetheless and I'm not gonna hate on that.
