You can listen to Mr. Weller's brand new single called "Brand New Toy" which will be included in his new compilation album "More Modern Classic" (out on 9th June): soundcloud.com/paulwellerofficial/paul-weller-brand-new-toy/s-8qJvGIt's Weller and I don't need to add more. Looking forward to see him again in June. (my 9th time to see him solo)

Thanks for posting this mimmi. I enjoyed it. Would sound very at home on 22 Dreams, which is my favourite Weller album. I always wished Oasis would make an epic album like that.

I like it. Agree that it would fit on 22 Dreams perfectly. I see that Weller is really pissed off that people were buying this in bulk on Record Store Day to sell on eBay.

I bought it yesterday. It was the last (or maybe the only) copy in the shop. Bought his last year's RSD release too. It was in a black sleeve and this year's one is in a white one.

After this post of yours, I looked on ebay, globey and I found a shocking fact. So many copies on ebay and some of them are 10 times expensive! I paid € 14 for this 7 inch. I read that there was only 350 copies were made and probably more than half of them have been sold on ebay. What a shame!

Paul and Hannah Weller have been looking into this. Seems the son of Townsend records was selling ALOT of RSD stuff of his eBay account (over 240 items including 15 Weller records) They've passed on all the info on to universal so would guess next year hopefully be a changes be made in rules to at least stop insiders selling Attachments:

Nice to see an artist making a stand as they all know it happens Bands do these RSD editions to excite fans and help indie record shops so shame they abuse this trust and fans miss out.

Weller's official statement regarding his RSD releas sales on Ebay: ****************************************************************************** Paul Weller Statement Record Store Day statement regarding Paul Weller sales on Ebay We share Paul Weller's frustration at evidence that 'Brand New Toy' has been offered for sale on eBay, and we are disappointed that despite our best efforts to drive out the touts, once again some people are seeking to exploit the goodwill of artists and labels by selling RSD exclusives at vastly-inflated prices on eBay. At just 500 copies Paul Weller’s ‘Brand New Toy’ was one of the most limited editions available on RSD and so some re-selling was expected. However, thanks to the measures we have taken on re-sales, overall the number of complaints about unauthorised sales this year is well down on previous years, though we continue to monitor eBay on an hour-by-hour basis. We clearly cannot control the activities of members of the public, but the Record Store Day Code of Conduct makes it clear that any store found to be complicit in unauthorised sales on eBay faces being banned from future events. Record Store Day would not exist without the support and commitment of artists and labels and we take our responsibility to them very seriously. www.recordstoreday.co.uk/news/paul-weller-statement/

Also his message on the official website:
***************************************************************************** A MESSAGE FROM PAUL TO HIS FANS ABOUT RECORD STORE DAY
This is a message to all the fans who couldn't get the new vinyl single on Record Store Day and/or paid a lot of money for a copy on eBay.
I agree with all of you who have sent messages expressing your anger and disappointment at the exploitation of these "limited editions" by touts.
Apart from making the record, the rest has very little to do with me but I am disheartened by the whole thing and unfortunately I won't be taking part in Record Store Day again.
It's such a shame because as you know I am a big supporter of independent record stores but the greedy touts making a fast buck off genuine fans is disgusting and goes against the whole philosophy of RSD.
There were copies of my single on eBay the day before Record Store Day and I've heard stories of people queuing outside their local record shop only to be told there were none left at opening time!
It only takes a few to spoil a wonderful concept for everyone else. Shame on those touts.
Don't support their trade and don't let them use Record Store Day to ruin the very thing it's designed to support.
Onwards. PW
PS. I'd like to say thank you for all the positive, supportive comments on our privacy case recently. Bless ya.
********************************************************************************************
I was lucky enough to be able to purchise this release in my local record store and I paid € 14.
Shame on you, greedy greedy people. You don't know what meant to be a music lover.
