Wow you think this guy reads the forum? He is mainly taking shit tho. There's still loads of acts touring and if the only way you can have spontaneity is playing past a curfew you're in trouble. Also look and reverend and makers they nearly alway do acoustic set outside the venue on a bench etc after every gig. There is plenty of new acts pushing boundaries. Technology has allowed lots of music that 5-10 years ago a) wouldn't have got made as you can even make music on your phone now b) been distributed via Yt/ soundcloud etc.

He's definitely talking shit, mainly he's pissed that the music industry has changed and he has to change what he knows to survive. Things are more sink or swim than ever in the music biz, and he just sounds bitter about having to change his ways.
He makes it sound as if internet created people to talk about the nonessential stuff when it comes to music (gossip, clothes, etc). If anything, the internet has allowed people to be more able to talk about it. As far as anonymity goes (and nobody should assume anonymity online anymore... it's not the 90s!), Oscar Wilde put it best when he said, "Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth." Therefore, trolls.
In closing, the industry changed. He's pissed off about it. Damn kids skating on the sidewalk, yada yada. Also, people suck; the assumption of anonymity lets people act like assholes.
