Man, I put in HC while driving from Austin up to Dallas. What a solid fucking album. I'm not sure how anyone can say it's shit. It's not! It stands up to anything put out by any other fucking contemporary rock group and it's just good solid rock! It wont change the face of music and it's not gonna make you stroke your beard, but if you want to just put in an album and have it for half hour, then it doesn't get much better! Heathen Chemistry, man. That's it.

might have been a good (=more successful and acclaimed) 3rd album.. it sounds a bit reminiscent of the good ol' days which obviously is a mortal sin if you're not U2. the singles were mega!

stop crying your heart out is a pussy song.
I like the hindu times, force of nature (i dont get why it gets ragged), hung in a bad place, born on a different cloud, and better man.
the other songs dont do much for me.

Definitely very good album. Very summery feeling (except BOADC). I like The hindu times, Hung in a bad place, SCYHO, songbird, Little by little, BOADC and Better man. Sometimes it´s nice to listen All in the mind and She is love too. But FON is probably the worst song what they´ve ever done. Lazy and boring...zz..zz..z..

I don't like SCYHO.
I enjoy the rest though, some of the songs are great, but I don't like the sound of it...dunno how to describe it, that's usually my main complaint - the sound.

i always take up for HC. it has some quality songs. i don't know if i'd say it's great but it was DEFINITELY a step in the right direction following BHN and SOTSOG. and now we have DBTT which is more quality....so i look at it as a stepping stone sorta. the only songs i dont like on HC are hindu times ( wayyyyyyyyy overratedddddd ) and a quick peep. the mood is different then any other album which i think causes ppl to gripe. but yes, it's good.
- cheers !

the singles are good, it has some very weak songs though. If I sit down and listen to it I'll probably enjoy it but it's not something I'm compelled to do very often. Idol is right, there's something about the sound.... the production can't be worse..... it's not memorable and after a good frst have (despite of FON) the second half is just too weak

I wouldn't say it's a favourite of mine, but I fucking love to put it on during a summer night to just relax.... what an amazing album. It's all around good with a lot of top tunes.
I am one who doesn't like FON and I stick to it. But otherwise the rest of the album is awesome
Starting off with Hindu Times is always a smash

It's an okay album, but it tries to hard to be Morning Glory. The Hindu Times is mega and Hung In A Bad Place, Songbird, and BOADC are also great, but it can get boring for me.

Anyone who rags on SCYHO should immediately dismiss any of the sappy Oasis songs: Wonderwall, Don't Go Away, etc. It's up there with all of them. Classic Oasis. And, yeah. HC is miles ahead of BHN and SOTSOG as full albums go, I'll tell you that much...

Maybe SotSoG. Heathen Chemistry is much more consistent, but SotSoG has those songs(Go Let It Out!, Gas Panic!, WDIAGR?) that makes you want to own the album soely for them. HC Is also more consistent then BHN, but I believe BHN has better songs when it comes down to it all. DYKWIM?, Stand By Me, AATW, My Big Mouth...

Well, uhm ... Heathen Chemstry is O.K. in my opinion.
A good album when you compare it to albums of other bands.... but for a Oasis album for me it was kind of disappointing. Good tunes, but not so big as they use to be. I like Hindu Times, Stop Crying Your Heart Out and Born On A Different Cloud.
The rest sounds a bit unambitious to me. It's a good album, but the worst Oasis album. They can do much better, and the proof is DBTT. much better the HC in my opinion.
I think the mix of waiting so long after SOTSOG (which had this huge sound), the mellow sound (which don't really present that typical Oasis vibe), and some unambitous tunes, a kinda empty producing, and the big words before the release, made the album a dissapointment to a lot of fans. But in the end it's still a good one ... but not there best .... by far not their best.
(maybe an idea to reproduce the album here on the forum? :-))

How would he change the album? Combine it with SotSoG? I've heard alot of people talking about that and it sounds like a mega idea.

HC Is also more consistent then BHN, but I believe BHN has better songs when it comes down to it all. DYKWIM?, Stand By Me, AATW, My Big Mouth... I'd have to disagree with you about consistency. Firstly, Definitely Maybe, WTSMG, and BHN are all very consistent in their sound, production, and feel. But I feel that Standing on the Shoulder of Giants is also very consistent. Obviously not as much as the others before it. But the guitars, the mellotron voices, and the feel of the album seems to me to be very well done. That's why I like it. To me I've always found that HC has lacked that. DBTT provided immense improvement. That's not to say that HC is a bad album. Far from it. I love to listen to it and let it flow along. There may not be a lot of A material on it, but what's good is fucking GREAT and that's important.

I agree, DM,(WTS)MG?, and DBTT were all very consistent. My problem with SotSoG is that it has some brilliant songs, but stuck between them are, in my opinion, mediocore songs.
For instance, we get Fuckin In The Bushes and Go Let It Out! at first. Great start. Who Feels Love is okay, but Little James and PYMWYMI just tears it all apart. Then we go back to great stuff with WDIAGW?
BTW Sorry for all of the acronyms. ;D

HC will shit all over SOTSOG. Come on, simply put, it's a bad album. 3/4 good tracks tops. But HC brings in a vintage, raw feel. It's creative. loose, with songs like Hindu Times, SCYHO, Songbird, BOADC.... And fuck off, guys! I love A Quick Peep. I wanna hear more Oasis songs like that. Sure, the album is a stepping stone on the way to DBTT. That's a good thing. But thank God it sounds nothing like BHN or SOTSOG.

I haven't listened to it for a while Put it in. You won't be disappointed. As far as Quick Peep and Swamp Song...Apples and Oranges. Just because they are instrumentals doesn't mean they are comparable. A Quick Peep owns those 90 seconds or whatever it is. BHN does not have the same production and sound as DM or WTSMG. You are a fool to think so. It's bloated and overdone. And least favorite album?!?! OVER SOTSOG?! Really now... Final word: GO ENGLAND in 4 hrs...
