I'm not sure why but I have absolutely zero interest in this project.

I could see this being really good or it could be completely empty kinda like how Great Gatsby felt. I've yet to see 12 Year Slave.
By that clip it seems that Andre nailed Jimi's voice and his demeanor. I heard he practiced guitar left handed for 6 hours a day for this role. This role is his for the taking.
Naturally it will suck that there's no actual music from Jimi in the film. The Hendrix Estate is like that though with regard to the catalog.
It is a toss up.

It is a toss up. it is a shame that his music isn't being used for the movie... everyone, myself included, always goes on about the Beatles and the Rolling Stones output during the mid 60's to early 70's but Jimi Hendrix released three absolutely classic, and his only albums, in little over a year. what. the. fuck... God bless.

I agree my right tattoo is off a Hendrix import ( first rays of the new rising sun ) but I have zero interest. Maybe cause I can't stand Andre ! I don't know

You know growing up in the shadow of the 60 s in the suburbs , I can tell you for a fact , and a lot here especially young BEATLE lovers and ones who left forum to start another won't agree or understand because you only read books or watch videos But in America , Hendrix and Dylan ,and to a degree the doors and ccr are the bands the defined the 60 s to white middle class American youth , it's what they rolled I to battle with in nam with there tanks blaring Hendrix ,ccr ect ect ... I grew up as a pre teen in the early to mid 70s. The Beatles and stones were gods. But the cool kids the ones who hated nam. , protested , were older than me by a few years , they identified with Hendrix , Dylan , ccr ., that's the soul of the 60 s to suburban mid class America youth of that time , I was there , don't need a book or skewed videos to remember that .. Jimi epitomized the 60 s to American youth
Edit : and by remember I mean everyone thinks the Beatles and stones seemed to have defined the. 60 s. In America the counter culture that ruled were much more in tune and identified and held dear the music of Hendrix , Dylan , doors , ccr ....don't make him better ...but in America he was more" in tune " with our way of life. Why the pic is fascinating

While Young and Stills in Buffalo Springfield. Stills most likely wrote the song for that generation movement

I have absolutely no idea how this film is going to survive without the blessing of Hendrix's estate. They've been against the film, so they refused the filmmakers the rights to use Hendrix's songs and recordings.
