It's gotta be 'The Girl In The Dirty Shirt' for me, absolutely fantastic tune with a great melody and a few superb lyrics ("Get your shit together girl!" being my personal favourite. Shame about the shit song title ('Make Me Believe' or 'What She's Worth To Me' would have been much better choices IMO) and the bloated production. I'd be pleasantly surprised if we ever heard it played live again.

Liam's vocals are absolutely on point and I've always loved Noel's backing vox. The piano more than anything else makes it a delicious little slice of pop, akin to She's Electric but with the Be Here Now-effect added to it making it last nearly SIX MINUTES and as you say, with bloated production. Still though, great tune and yes, the 'get your shit together girl!' line is awesome imo

Agreed^
Girl in the dirty shirt: one of my favourites on BHN She's electric: one of the first songs that got me into Oasis Cast no shadow: same as shes electric, but a much better song..probably on par with Champagne supernova, wonderwall etc Roll it over: chilled out, liam sounds great, one of the best on SOTSOG Love like a bomb: imo they should have stuck to a version closer to the demo (for liams voice) but it still sounds great especially when the piano kicks in
Soldier on, The turning are also amazing..pretty hard to pick just 5 lol

i dont think that we have fillers in oasis albums 1-3 plus the b sides. not even underrated songs in albums 1-2 plus b sides. the problems starts form post Be Here Now period where most of oasis tunes , even the singles are underrated (but i love them almost all).

That tune Wonderwall is grossly underrated, should have been a single in my opinion.

Cast No Shadow is a fantastic song, and honestly, one of Oasis's best songs. Their performance at Knebworth, in 1996, put into perspective, the magic this song carries. One thing I never liked was how Liam would always sing "You can take my soul, just don't take my pride", instead of "And as they took his soul, they stole his pride". That line is a good way of telling how it was a tribute, through and through, to Ashcroft.
I Hope, I Think, I Know is a "Fuck you, I do what I want" song that kicks ass and hauls it too. It's purely pop, but it still shows its grit, and that's what I love about it. Arguably one of Liam's best vocal performances on a song.
Roll it Over has a few fantastic lines that adds up to one big song that has an odd gospel feel to it. A lot of how the lyrics flow, don't make sense to me, but overall, there's a certain feeling you can take away from it. Pretty incredible closer and great song.
Turn Up the Sun has some brilliant lyrics (I have a piano/I can't find the C) at times, and the song really displays how much they had grown as a band. The instruments used are wonderful, Liam sounds great, and I think what makes it even better, is that it was a non-Gallagher wrote song that sounded awesome.
The Turning is damn cool. The drum opening harkens good memories of Bring it on Down and the choir in the chorus turns the intensity up to 11, in an already intense song. I love it a bunch, and it's just a really cool song.
Keep the Dream Alive would be a very very very close 6th. Great song that, to me, describes Oasis, at the point, sooo well, and it was wrote by Andy Bell. Liam's vocals are OK, but other than that, good song.

If everyone here talks all the time how underrated Roll It Over is, is it still underrated?

Liam's vocals are OK, but other than that, good song. I respect your remarks but that song, along with The Beat Goes On and Kill For A Dream, always remind me of an Oasis tribute band that I feel Andy got stuck in when joining Oasis for the most part. Turn Up The Sun however is brilliant.

Watched Lord Don't Slow Me Down for the first time in a couple years. Gotta say it is one of the most underrated Oasis tracks. Would have been great on DBTT. I like Mucky Fingers well enough but LDSMD would have been a top 2-3 song on that album. A real rag doll of a track. If Noel as a track like this on his new album I'll be very happy. It is a bit out of Liam's range but Noel does a great job infusing some attitude into it. Shame it kinda gets forgotten about. It rocks pretty hard for a DBTT era track. Would be a live highlight.

Should have been on the album - again, what on earth was Noel thinking? I'm not too keen on Liam's vocal take on the other version, but I'm sure he would have smashed it given a few more takes because the attitude in this one suits Liam down to a tee. Noel put band democracy above quality - and instead we got the under-par tunes of Keep The Dream Alive and A Bell Will Ring.

Fascinated and surprised at the love for Girl in the Dirty Shirt! It's a good song, would never have registered on my radar though.
I went for:
Hello Hey Now Married With Children Columbia Cast No Shadow
I think the last two get a lot of love from Oasis fans quite rightly, but its one that would be obscure to the general public so thats why I included them here - if someone wanted to hear a bit more of Oasis other than Wonderwall and the big hits, I would send them these two.
Special mention for Hello though - it's a great opener, and more often than not, my favourite Oasis opener.
The melody 'and it's never gonna be the same/cos the years are falling by like the rain' is what I love about Noel - that mixture of vulnerability and melancholy wrapped up in a heartfelt and amazing melody in a tune that is largely euphoric and optimistic.

I'd argue, instead of Mucky Fingers being replaced, have it replace A Bell Will Ring. LDSMD is a great song to carry on from KTDA & lead into LTBL. Add in Eyeball Tickler after The Importance of Being Idle, and you have an even greater album, than what it came out to be.

Must say, no love for The Turning or Turn Up the Sun? I'd argue those two were quite the standout tracks of post-2000 Oasis IMO

I meant no slight to Mucky Fingers. I enjoy that track a lot. KTDA, ABWR, TMOS, are all much weaker songs. In fact I prefer Mucky Fingers over Lyla. It's just if they were going to put LDSMD on the album a Noel written and sung song would have to go, just to keep band democracy.
Hello and Hey Now are great. The latter is the weakest track on MG but its still a very good song. I said this in another thread, but I'd love to see Noel do a version of it now. Hello is pretty much on par with Rock n' Star in terms off album openers both are perfect album openers given Oasis' context. Rock n Roll Star sets up what Oasis sough to achieve and Hello is the glorious comeback after the fact. "it's never gonna be the same" How true.
The Turning is my favorite song on DOYS and Turn Up the Sun is the best song Andy wrote while he was in Oasis.
